Oh man, this thing gets better and better every time I see it!

Few questions for you if you don't mind answering them.

First, is the waterblock made of pure copper or is it some kind of plated alloy? It looks amazing but I have to make sure it will run safe in my loop

On that same note, how is the contact. We have all seen the Asus Maximus Extreme and many of us have noticed that there is not nearly enough contact (or just crappy cement) between the block and the NB, which rendered all the goodness of watercooling useless. Does this waterblock perform equally to an aftermarket one say from Danger Den or EK?

Third, please tell me that auto overclocking isn't present, or at least not turned on by default.

Anyways, thanks for the pics, I am not the most accomplished overclocker, however this board looks badass enough for me to step up my game :P
    CPU: Intel QX9650 Engineering Sample
    GFX: Palit 4870 @ 790/ 1100
    RAM: 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 PC1600

    HDD: 2x Western Digital 500GB
    PSU: ABS 700 Watt
    Screen: Samsung 22" Widescreen
    Cooling: Thermochill PA120.2

    All cooled by Danger Den!

This looks astonishing indeed. But is it worth the 400$ if one is to use it on air/watter and not for Xtreme OCin with LN2?

The Foxconn site shows that the Blackops has support for DDR3 1600. What would happen if you put in 1800,1866, 2000 mhz ram?

Someone mentioned this already, but it would be great to get more info on the NB waterblock.

    Second post updated.

You can see the waterblock internals. That is pure copper you see in there. I think it does pretty good job. Power circuit and SB is cooled a bit also.

You can use whatever DDR3 memory you like, but when talking about Intel chipset, you can only use 1:2 setting or lower divider. There is no unlinked moe in these chipsets. You have take your fsb higher, if you like to use higher memory speeds. (500fsb = 1000MHz ram, 2GHz effective)

I really think that this mobo is worth every penny *Yes, I do test other motherboards aswell, so my option is not so much biased*
You are as good as your samples are!

    Awesome bundle!!! I love it.

We all know that is the perfect mobo for Xtreme, has the touch of the best OCers, but we will have to wait to see how it does in the hands of an "average Joe".

I wonder how It will perform with locked multi processors and "normal" Air/WC systems.

But I have lot's of time to wait the reports, sadly it will take forever before it arrives in Brazil.

I have played six months with this motherboard and obviously I can't use LN2 24/7 This board does really well with air and water. Believe me

This might be a silly question, but what's that 32-bit raid floppy all about? Do you absolutely need it to set up raid? Does it come in a CD/DVD? Thanks (And thanks for the mobo pics - lookin' good!)

edit: i'm thinkin' it's just the floppy version of the included disc (ie and this was a silly question)?

SF3D, any changes in dualcore 45nm overclockability in retail version compared to "prerelease" versions? Or is the sweet spot around 550fsb, just like with all the other X48 boards?

My pre release board showed only -40c, but this retail version might be different.

I will try to find some time to test Dual core. I have one E8500 that is cabable of doing 610 fsb on air (on a different mobo)

    Hey SF3D

I know the pre release board didn't have that cooler on the NB, but do you know if any of the guys have tried the retail cooler with LN2 ?

I'd like to know how they got on with insulating it, doesn't seem to be much room around the 3 points in red.

    HOT DAMN Phoenix Award bios!

Always preferred them to their counterparts, some are more intuitive some say but I will always love Award!

Awesome to see the block is copper, the board looks AMAZING!

I don't think I have ever been this excited about a hardware release but, this time I am!

I have one of the ES board with a ES NB and it was super easy to insulate. You just gotta cut around those areas and then insulate around the block itself.

    That's very gracious - appreciated!

On that note ... I'm looking at what I think are the (blue) hdd/sata power outlets

I think there's a good chance my lower GPU will be sitting right on top of them. I guess that's where those "L" sata cable connectors come in. I'm not familiar with the "L" shape connectors, but unless they plug into the mobo in both directions, I'm not sure I could fit more than 3 of 'em in under this big gpu? (Which is ok now, but I'm thinkin' of getting a 4th HDD.) Do those cables "go both ways" like that?

    Cheers,
