    Thanks.
i don't use the Foxliveupdate program so i am not familiar with it - i always download directly from the website from the link i posted

    g bios is beta

p bios is production - meaning the boards that come out of the factory now will have p05

    G28 (26/6/08)

P05 (10/7/08) as you see is the most current bios

hey uh, for some reason my FSB speed seems entirely dependent on my VDIMM. This would seem entirely reasonable if i didn't have the voltage set at 2.15 for 420 FSB with a 1:3 ratio on 1600mhz 7-7-6-18 RAM...
Is this just another RAM issue with this board? is my only option to just cross my fingers and hope foxconn has a new bios soon that supports my Mushkin RAM better?

this board seems to be pretty BAMF for wolfies.
cant say the same for non-extreme quads.

Update: I've decided to shelf BlackOps until i either pick up a wolfdale or hear news of the end all BIOS that finally fixes this jungle-gym. Picked up ASUS p5q3 to have fun on.

Well I have been using the G28 and I like it better then the P05 it seems to OC my e8500 better without problems. I am at 4.2GHz with a 1.3V and I just threw in my new 4870 X2 on this board and scored a 20K. Not a bad score since I am using a dual core cpu. I would think I would get a higher score with a Quad.. Has anyone tried a e8600 on this board yet? I am wondering if a 4.5GHz is possible?
    Thanks

    QUESTION 1:

    how dram compensation works ??
    +1 what means ?

    QUESTION 2:

    From anantech :

    CPU Clock vs. Memory Speed

The best memory divider for overclocking is generally 1:4.333. 1:3.2 may be used if FSB speeds exceed the maximum memory speed of your modules. Please note that onboard FSB jumpers may need to be set to the FSB speed of your processor for the lower ratio dividers to work.

    what does it mean ??

I'm not sure that's entirely accurate.
I'm pretty sure it's referring to the BIOSes stored on the board, for which there is an array of selection pins and a jumper. you move hte jumper to the BIOS you want to run. it comes automatically set on the 'Auto' BIOS, but you can move it to the others to select different FSB speeds. I'm not exactly clear on what effect this has versus setting fsb speed via BIOS tweaking in the 'auto'

It's been one year (+ a few days) since the official release of Blackops. I realize that in compuscenes this is already an eternity, and many who have used this mobo have moved on. However, for the purposes of charting the relevant lifetime of a modern mobo, I'd like to hear some thoughts and comments about this product now, 1 year later. Did it meet or not meet your expectations? What predictions about it came true, and which did not? Any praises or complaints? Please, do tell.

I have one important comment to make in regards of this board and Foxconn.

Launch failure. It was hard to find when other board weren't and that's what really kept this board from being a memorable one.
