Hmm i got no clue how to make this work.im trying the USB thingy but i lack of skill here.
0.6 version usb format tool gives me only option FAT32 even the readme/how_to says fat16.
Im so confused...
EDIT:Ok got it to work but there are no FSB setting in bios so my overclocking attempts will be bit lame since it aint there.
Installed Rampage 403 Bios to my X38 Maximus Formula > No cpu vcore or fsb options after that.
Crossflashing maximus formula to rampage formula works pretty well ... you must have a look to the dedicated thread

@koda,
First, allow me to thank you for creating this wonderful utility.
However, I seem to be having a problem getting it to work.
I downloaded the CD version, extracted the .iso, burned it to a disc.
I booted to the CD, selected my motherboard (Striker Extreme), selected the 1603 BIOS, selected 'No' when prompted to save the current BIOS, selected 'Y' to program.
The Warning about no powering off or resetting comes up, but it does not flash the new BIOS, in fact it just sits there with the cursor after 1603.bin flashing.
I Ctrl-Alt-Del out, no problem, the old (1303) BIOS is still there, nothing has changed.
What am I doing wrong?
I have flashed this board with a floppy before, so I am not sure what the issue is?
Thanks for any suggestions.
@koda,
Thank you for taking the time to help me.
I am wondering if you could give me any idea as to when the update might be available?
Thanks again for all your efforts and for producing this excellent application.
i'm currently working on it ... just need a few days !
@koda,
Thank you. I am looking forward to it.
Arctucas,
it will be longer than i thought.
You have to know that before releasing a version, i spend a lot of time to verify and qualify the most i can.
In this case, i just corrupted my nvidia chip mobo (i got only a striker extreme 680i not another one to tune the process) so i need to find an eeprom programmer able to flash a M50FLW080A chip or buy a new chip or maybe a mobo
You have to know that Asus (France) seems to not be able to help me and don't really support me for this tool.
I will fix the "nvidia" parts (i know exactly how) but i need a valid mobo to qualify it before releasing to everybody ... so it could take some time.
Really sorry about that. I will inform you asap
regards
So, Koda, you can flash a Maximus II with a P5Q bios with this tool???
X299X Aorus Master
I9 10920x
32gb Crucial Ballistix DDR4-4000
EVGA 2070 Super x2
Samsung 960 EVO 500GB
4 512gb Silicon Power NVME
4 480 Adata SSD
2 1tb HGST 7200rpm 2.5 drives
X-Fi Titanium
1200 watt Lepa
Custom water-cooled View 51TG
Yes the tool authorize to crossflash like you want (even stupid crossflash for example P5B on P5E which mean you will loose your mb ) when you choose the force option !
So you have to consider a crossflash before clicking (the tool just give you a simple way to crossflash )
Cool, with the dual bios chips, bad flashes shouldnt be a problem..... In "theory"......

After weeks without releases ... i'm able to announce my new release : v0.7
I must tell you one thing before ... i wasn't able to release any version before because i killed my nvidia chipset board (striker extreme nf680i) during testing flashing method.
I asked Asus France to support me with a new bios chip ... or even better any motherboard with nvidia chipset ... and they replyed me :
"No we don't have any mb currently and we are unable to provide you a chip or a new board ... "
Not very kind so i bought an eeprom prog on ebay (which was lost during shipping :/ ) ... so i had to wait until finding an old striker extreme or sparing some cash :d
However ... now i have fixed the nvidia problem (with a very old SE) and can release the key again so here it is the changelog :
v0.7
Fix nvidia chipset flashing method ...

@koda,
I was very pleased to see that you had completed the updated version.
However, I am having a different problem flashing my Striker Extreme with this version: When I select the 1801 BIOS and get to the DOS screen, 1801.bin is in the text box as I would expect, but the 'Please Select File' prompt just keeps flashing. Pressing Enter has no effect (I tried several times, waiting a minute or two between attempts), I also cannot change the file name, but I can Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart.
Please advise as to what I may be doing wrong.
Thank you for all your hard work making this application.
P.S. This is the CD version.
Well, I just flashed my striker extreme in 1801 with the v0.7 USB version (but it dosesn't matter).
Looks like it depends on what chip (mine was a winbond one)
Could you, please, tell me what is the model of bios chip (report all what you can read on it ... ) and what is on the screen during the flash (Winbond, STT, ST, Atmel, ...) ?
@koda,
Thank you for the prompt reply.
I cannot see what is printed on the BIOS chip without removing my SB cooler, but here are some screenshots I took as I progressed through the flash attempt:

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...12-8-08007.jpg
The last screenshot is where pressing Enter does nothing.
Do you know of another way to find out which BIOS chip I have, maybe software?
I really appreciate your taking time to help me.
Well, last screenshot show that awdflash didn't detect your chip :/
Strange that your SB cooler hide the bios chip ... Did you look the pllc32 chip just behind power/reset/clear cmos buttons ?
Could you please make an attempt with an USB key
I'm thinking about a CD version problem only ... to create the key, you can follow this : http://www.nokytech.net/kodakey/tuto...-creer-sa-cle/
Oki it's french but you just add to follow all the screenshots ... so you have a chance to success without understanding any french word :d
I will try to fix the CD version in case of USB version doing the job ...
FYI, i just (2mn ago) downgrade my Striker Extreme from 1801 to 1603 with the USB one
Edit :
ok, i just found the bug ... it concerns only CD version (i know how to resolve it but it means that i need to maintain a different content for CD and USB ... that's really bad ... need to think about it :/)
Can you try with an USB stick please ...
Edit2 :
Maybe you can try with only one hard drive connected & the DVD drive then boot CD ... it could really work with this configuration.
