Is 1,8 Vcore too much for å E8400 on air? Sub 10!

It's a thermalright ultra extreme. The roomtemperature was 20 degrees.

I can't see you getting away with that voltage for too long.
Have fun while it lasts though

good overclock on cpu but what were the temps, thats a lot of volts for air or water , have you tried lower volts to see if it will run same overclock, i'm guessing its a commando motherboard

    System i ran:
    E8400
    Asus Commando
    Crucial PC6400 Ballistix @ 1178 5-5-5-12
    8800gt
    PC power & cooling 750 W

The CPU like the voltage. I tried from 1,6 to 1,8. Over 1,8v it does not well anymore :p

I don't have any temps. I didn't chech because i thought that it just will worry me

Nice... Though your ram or something needs tightened. Ive seen sub 10 second runs with the same chip @ 4.5Ghz.

Yeah, at that voltage, dont plan on keeping it for too long.

1.8V for 45nm nice one, I've seen many 45nm dieing with vcore lower than this. Respect for courage

yes i know what you mean better not looking at temps eh! , what would the cpu do with the 9x multiplier, i have had about 4 of the new e8000 series cpus and they all run different some only need low volts but run hot and some need more volts and run cool , the e8500 i have tops out at 4750 on water with about 1.72 volts thenm it gets too hot, on single stage cooling which i hooked up just for a bench session i rammed 1.85 volts through it and it did 5140 , and running same chip now at 1.35 volts at 4038mhz 24/7

Yes I would say that 1.8v is too much for air, but I would also like to say that 1.8v is too much for 4.7Ghz as most people only need 1.6v or less for that speed, some people with 1.8v can get to 5.4+Ghz with the E8400.

Yup...unless you're ready for an upgrade, keep that voltage a bit lower...nice result for air cooling though!

ok you need to look around here and ask yourself. im at xtremesystems witch i would think there are plenty of xtreme benchs and test etc. most people think this is stupid unless your a xtreme overclocker and take risks. the people who are xtreme think its cool but people like you think its stupid. maybe you should goto powderpuffoverclocking.com and post there. and fix you sig cuz ive never seen a BOLT modded motherboard. would you care to show us your BOLT mod please.

and tharshan way to be man this is xtreme systems and i congratulate you in having the balls to put that much vcore through that chip keep it up man get some cold on the thing

Most of E84 i tested reached 4.7GHz 1m stable with about 1.5-1.55core with air. My best E82 reached 4.65Ghz 1m with 1.52Vcore on air. 1.8Vcore adds more heat than stability at that frequency.

Ok. I don't really understand you or your race, but if U wanna get dirty. Talking like you know something. Get the damn info about my motherboard before you open your mouth and release your death breath over me. IF you wanted to see my boltmodd then i will show U, im afraid I don't need beacause there is plenty of people that already done the mod, you know where the search bottom is? you were only a click from it!. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=751 was it so hard it took me about 2 min. If you don't call it a boltmodd, and you want to say "heatpipe mod" then it's fine with me, im gonna change my sign again if there is more people that wan't to call it a heatpipe mod.

    Anymore more questions?

EDIT: I'm not going to watch in this thread anymore and im not coming back to xtremesystems.org, now when i know there is people like natedog420 on this site too, natedog420 if you wanna talk more PM me
