[3DMark Vantage] Unhappy with new policy?

Did you allready download 3DMark Vantage?

Did you allready paid for it?

Are you "happy" with this benchmark?

Everbody who allready benched with the 3DV noticed, that FUTUREMARK changed the policy for everybody to get benchmarks results.

STFU-Sucker from Awardfarik want's to write a letter to FUTUREMARK and if if you agree, please sign in...

Here are the basic statements, which we don't agree and want to be changed:

    1. no registration with E-Mail for trial version

    2. user of basic and advanced version can see result offline

    3. genereal improvement of speed und errors (especially CF-user have problems with errors)

This thread is not about, that we are not willing to pay for the basic or advanced version, we just want same features like eg 3D06...

Here you can see the list of users who signed in: http://awardfabrik.de/forum/showthread.php?t=3613

If you are willing to join, please sign in just in ONE forum!

Here is the first blueprint of the letter:

    Dear Futuremark-Team,

as a beginning we hope to attract your full attention to the following lines. We think it's not too excessive to affirm that many enthusiasts, gamers and ordinary pc users were all on edge for the latest 3DMark. But also a lot of people agree with the meaning that the new pricing of 3DMark Vantage doesn't fit. The Basic and Advanced Version do not have all the Features the fans expected. Potential User have to spent $ 6,95 + Vat for the Basic and $ 19,95 + Vat for the Advanced-Edition. But they had to pinpoint that it is not possible to see the benchmark results and also not to save them offline. This causes that Basic and Advanced Version don't fit to a large part of the potential users. The best version for enthusiast users would be the Professional Version of 3D Mark Vantage which is unfortunately the most expensive an unaffordable Version. Needless to say that the 3D Mark Vantage was not a low budget production and has to leave some ammount of profit for your company. But we might think that only a small group of Users would pay over $500 to get a fully working bechmark tool that includes all key features they expect. The next point is that a respectable number of customers have huge problems to run 3DMark Vantage. Freezes and projection failures during the Benchmark let pop off all the fun with that benchmark. It seems that the 3D Mark Vantage is not completely finished yet.
These are the facts why some users from one of the biggest overclocking communitys in Europe - the AwardFabrik - started a petition to demand some major changes on the current situation. In this context the Awardfabrik and some other german and international communitys started to collect signatures to stimulate the Futuremark team to arrange changes in spoken facts. In this way almost 300 users gave their signature in the first three days. You can see the results of this campaign in the lines attached.
We hope that this campaign is able to open your eyes noticing that this isn't the right way to keep a more and more important community growing. Our greatest whishes are:

    - Basic and Advanced Version of 3DMark Vantage need to show results and save validation files offline (validation files can be uploaded on any sytem)
    - General bugfixing and improvements in the general functionality of the program

Thank you for your attention and we are looking forward to your response.

    Regards
    Comments are welcome!

I will collect your signs here and add to our list until sunday...

nice to see "the list" here on xs
    saw it on forumdeluxx.de today...
iīm also not pleased by the fact that i canīt save my benchmark runs. that was something why i bought the "advanced" version in the first place, in the hope to be able to save runs and post them in the orb later.

i hope the blueprint of the letter to fm getīs a little workover

Hope a lot of people here will join this petition! Not sure if it will change anything, but it is worth a try! A lot of people - incl. me - is angry about what they get for the 24$ they paid..

    Good point..

I think someone with a "big name" should send it to futuremark then, like No_Name or someone else.

First thanx to the positive feedback...

As written, right now it's just a blueprint...

And with the name is a good point, we will discuss this...

I fired off an e-mail tuesday morning demanding my money back and asking why they decided to slit their throat in such a way.

They still have not answered my e-mail and I am continuing my boycott (I have not run it since.)

My main issue is requiring internet to view the score and no saving.

There are several threads at futuremark forums, A FM moderator basically told everybody: too bad so sad, we like it as is and that is how it is going to be. As a side note yesterday at 5pm there were 14+ pages at 9pm they had trimmed it down to 12 pages by deleting lots of people's opinions.....they don't care.

    sign me up for that

USD 20 is cheap .. but dont get it y do i have to go online to view the results

even heck look at the orb results..
nothing even to compare with with the new policy..

hence 3dmark is slowly becoming useless for overclockers to judge they system performance

seems to be only good on buying options for graphic cards..

This is nothing more than a cheap attempt by Futuremark to squeeze the OC community for cash. I understand and accept them charging for multiple uses, and I understand and accept them charging for offline result view functionality. They are a business and they need to make money, and offering offline view functionality for free was clearly not working. However, limiting the number of uploads and removing offline view functionality for their paying customers is reprehensible and truly immoral. Futuremark, you rely on the benching scene to survive. No non-corporate entity can afford or should be made to pay $500 for an essential feature of your product.

I encourage everyone to boycott Vantage until Futuremark realises this cheap standover attempt will not work.

I also wasted 20$ in this benchmark :-( . It is pretty off to make the result viewer available only online .
I addition the free version do not allow even to submit one benchmark result ..
