got a question bout "CPU NB Vlotage Control", it's kinda hard to search cause "NB" isn't searchable

anyways the warning txt for "CPU VID Control" says CPU NB voltage has to be equal for phenoms. i'm just confused cause there is also "NB Core Voltage" and "NB HT Voltage", what does "CPU NB voltage" control anyways? i followed the warning message advice and i managed to hit 3.0ghz though.

That is what needs to be set in tandem with CPU vid for example my Overclock is CPU Vid @1.23750v so my CPU-NB Vlotage is set @1.23750v

what all to adjust...i raised voltage up to 1.5 (that is maximum i will go for) and cannot get it to go anywhere past 2700 mhz...it is stable at 2600mhz, at 2700 mhz it crashes after a while wiht message blue screen...anything else i should tweak on the board to make it move past 2700, or is that the limit of this cpu

crap OC potential if you ask me :S

cpu batch is JAAFB AA 0812GPBW

Well its luck of the draw man and there are growing Pains going on Associated with Phenom too. Personally I have not pushed mine past what I have its just not worth the voltage increase cuz voltage and temps are my primary concern and besides I have not experienced any of the crap most of you guys go through and thats probably attributed to not spikeing Board and cpu voltage and trying for High HT

HT Overclocking is Dead and you fellas really need to acknowledge this and stop trying to overclock these chips like the K8

how high is too high? i had to use 1.5v to get 3.0ghz. i'm not running it 24/7, but just for benches. and you also say we can't go for high HT? how high have you gotten yours? i'm still testing so don't know if i can break 240 yet, but that's where i'm at right now

the point is...there shouldnt be luck of the draw on BE labeled chips...thats all there is to it...i should be able to get 20-30% oc...anyways how is it that a chip runs stable as hell on 1.25V at 2600, and cannot run on 1.5V at 2700...also im not touching anything except voltage and multiplier

at least my memory is working @ 1066...something that was not possible on abit QuadGT ix38 mobo

I think Brother Esau is referring to the clock disparity between the 9850BE and 6400BE. As you know, the 6400 is clocked at 3.2G stock and 9850 at 2.5G stock. Plus, the 6400 can clock up to 3.5-3.6 on air if you do it right. For the 9850 clocked from 2.5-3.0ish to game as well as the 6400 in single threaded applications is a great thing. Many believe dual cores are better for games now cos they clock higher and the majority of games/software don't take advantage of 2+ cores. Please correct me if I'm wrong Brother Esau.

I think 2x2G sticks would be better for 4G total.

2X2GB WILL BE EASIER ON THE Board

@Stocious......... I was just saying that if he must switch CPU's the 6400BE is a great CPU mainly because I owned one prior to going Phenom so just talking through experience is all Regardless of all of that if he is hell bent on getting a Dual Core why I do not know because as I said the 9850BE is lucid at gaming with CROSSFIRE just as the 6400BE is

That's cool. I had a X2 6000 on my break-in build. I hadn't built a pc since circa 2001 and it performed well, playing most games high to medium with mid-range parts. I see no reason to go back to dual but if that's what he wants then thats fine too.

BTW: That's the Mandelbrot Set fractal in your sig, correct. Which variation is it: dope, windowpane, heroin, crack damn I forget the others.

Dual Core, had the same problem.

I got 4x 1GB Transcend Axe RAM DDR1066+ after. However, it's damn hard to get DDR1180+. However, DDR1000 4-4-4 works flawless. DDR1200 is possible however it requires lots and lots of tweaking, which in the end just ruins it for me.

I love to mess around, but that much.

Im just thinking to get watercooling and get rid of the heatsink + RAM problem.

But there are enough nice kits which use normal sized heat spreaders, you just have to look around a bit

need help with crossfire settings. ok, i only had this board for a few weeks now and i still can't figure out the pin settings to enable crossfire. i'm trying to crossfire an asus 3870x2 with a sapphire 3870. now i'm reading the manual and it's not very clear. i left the connectors at default right now and i'm not sure if that's crossfire enabled or not. anyone running crossfire on this board can help me out please. thank you very much.
