    Smile E8500 @Mini-Cascade - EVGA 790i & 2 9800GTX SLI Stock = 116K on my fav game

Yesterday I picked 2 unexpensive 9800GTX's and decide to make a quick run in my favorite game

One of the cards is really worst than the other at stock: 1 do 825-1250 but the other only do 815-1190 in Nature. Can raise the shaders to 2075 on booth cards

    Here is a photo:

    Description of the setup:

    - Core2D E8500 Q746A cooled by the Mini-Cascade (-90C evap) |
    - EVGA 790i Ultra SLI stock P04 Bios |
    - 2 EVGA 9800GTX SLI Stock No Mods 815-2075-1190 |
    - Cellshock Blue 7-6-5-18 |
    - Silverstone 1200W |
    - Old school tweaking but NO Mipmap Cheat
    - Please be a Sportsman and keep 2001 free of Mipmap Cheat!

And here is the 1 result, only did one run..

    Compare link: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9367672

Of coure I did not use mimap tweak/cheat

Booth CL and CH are not good at all... a lot of improvement here is possible in future runs

I'm a bit astonished but the booth Lobby High and Low are better compared to the stock 9800GX2 run is this setup

Nature specially and Dragos gain quite a bit compared to GX2, that's the result of more MHZ's on Core-Shaders-Mem ..

So there is a lot improvement is possible, even with 2 9800GTX's with Stock cooler and no mods ..

I really tempted to mod these cards

As usual was really fun and unstressfull to bench with these Nvidia's cards..

That's really the most important thing on my favorite game: have fun

@p4nzer in this photo you can have an idea what are the evaporator temperatures (temperatures measured in the base of the cooper evaporator very near the contact are with the CPU) with a dual core while runnig my favorite game:

Yeah, I'm having the same issue, 3D Mark2001SE search on ORB shows 3D Mark06 results
Maybe FutureMark is making changes to the code.

P.S. Sick scores as usual Pedro
Volt-mod the cards and go for 900MHz Core, 2100+ SPs.

Very nice pedro, XS #1 & 2 in 3DMark01 single & dual card

If your cards were as cold as Vince's it might be a good battle with your '01 knowledge

Beta ORB has some problems, hopefully they will get things straightened out soon and return the nice compare charts as well as having '01 results paired with '01 search input.

    Very nice tool indeed

I have asked this to you 'cause I have this brand new e8500 that bench under ss at 5100-5160 mhz on 3dmarks.

Next week I'll bench with dry ice on cpu and ss on vga and maybe 5300 mhz under 3d are possible

    Bye

Replace the nv4_disp.inf file ( in the temporary installation files folder created by you or the driver installation wizard ) with the attached file here ( make sure you rename the file attached here to nv4_disp.inf ):

    OK here is an update.

CPU still on mini-cascade, 9800GTX's still full stock and no mods ..

Better Bios optmizations and bit more CPU speed give me better Lobbies and decent Cars

    Here is the result
