    Smile Some pics to share

I'm pretty new to photography. Here are two shots that I made recently. They were shot with an Olympus E510 using one of the two kit lenses, the 14-42mm 3.5-5.6 one. The pictures were edited with Photoshop Lightroom (first time using it).

Exporting the last shot from Lighroom made it look a little dull. Here is one with better colours.

Pretty nice. Which photo program is easy?
I had CS3 but I couldn't figure out how to use it in a short amount of time.

Thanks You could use Lightroom to play with colours and do easy editing like cropping and corrections to pictures like straightening the horizon and removing spots and red eye, etc.

    Thanks

I believe my brother won the Dolphin some years ago, with such a game:

So basically it was something like $1

Shot with my E510 with the 3.5-5.6 lens at 17mm, ISO 100, f/9.0, 1/50s. The picture was afterwards edited with Lightroom.

    Wow, they are fantastic.

Just a quick question, why lightroom instead of photoshop...

Just for it's ability to do stuff fast and easy?

    You work is very impressive.

I use Lightroom mainly because it has fewer buttons and still does the job My second reason to use LR is that I find the catalog function to be very convenient for handling RAW files.

    Thanks for the positive comment

Great stuff, So what your saing is that rather then using the mother of all photoediting software, You are using a lighter version/functionality that allows you to do things fast and with a high rate of quality,
    '
that is very cool. I use photoshop just about every day, so I am always looking for shortcuts.

But i have just overlooked Lightroom but will go back and do a little eval.

Is it a freebee or does it come with bundles or do I/my company have to buy it standalone.

thanks for your tips and keep up the messing around, there is obiviously talent there!~

    Yes exactly.

Lightroom is perfect for your needs then. Remember that it's mostly functional for RAW files, so it's a good idea to shoot in RAW.

I believe Lightroom costs $299 for a single user license. There is also a trial version, but your best bet would be trying the 2.0 beta version. It expires at the end of August. I haven't tried it myself yet (I use the latest stable version, 1.4*) but I've heard good things about it. Give it a shot
thanks for your tips and keep up the messing around, there is obviously talent there!~
That's the first time I hear that. Thanks for the motivation

A crop that gives a mysterious feel to the picture. This is the result of a tip on another forum.

This was just a practice shot to explore depth of field, hence the F11 aperture. Some contrast, colour vibrance and (software) lens vignetting were used to enhance the picture

    Same lens at 19mm, ISO 400, f/11, 1/40s.
