I've seen on a recent CPU cooler roundup that the OCZ Vendetta 2 surpasses the Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme by far.Is this the new air cooler king?

I will trust the laws of physics and consider that the TRUE lost because they botched the installation, which a lot of people seem to do. That's the only weakness of the TRUE. Well....and the price
WIsh the review would have tested at a higher speed like the Techgage review.

The only thing I do not like about that cooler is that it uses the LGA 775 push pins. I think screws provide much more pressure especially for a huge heatsink like that.

It's not just a pressure thing... The LGA775 spec lacks a backplate, so those push-pins are pretty abusive to motherboards when coupled with large coolers.
It's kinda similar to people who were killing their LGA 775 motherboards by installing waterblocks with excessive mounting loads and no backplates (even Swiftech damaged one of their test boards this way at last year's CES).

I'm doing science and I'm still alive...
in this test what is the cpu cooler fan use with TRUE 120 E ? i don't see anything on the review and is very important to know.

not wanting to "dis" any reviews
but results do differ when installed in a case, even case to case. i see alot of reviews where the motherboard is just ontop of a box. then they compare the temps to figures reported on other sites which was tested within a case.
true is indeed awesome, but it wont be king forever

I have the kingwin rvt-12025. It's a rebadged xigmatek hdt-1283. It's identical to the xigmatek down to the fan and box design.
Kingwin was the supplier before xigmatek found a US distributer. Now that xigmatek can be bought on newegg, you may see a phaze out of the kingwin rvt line sometime soon. Newegg for example is dropping the kingwin rvt already.

I too have the kingwin rvt-12025. I replaced the fan it came with a Panaflo 110cfm one, it is good.
Push pins=no go for me. I always end up breaking the damb things.
The TR 775 Bolt-thru kit is 100% compatible for the Xigmatek coolers (not sure of the OCZ Vendetta 2).
The pushpins for the Xigmatek(Kingwin) are more than adaquate though. The entire cooler w/ fan is only 600g. Almost 200g lighter than a TRUE-120 w/ NO fan.
I use the TR Bolt-thru kit though because it was $5 + $1.50 shipping through Sidewinder Computers.
Linkage. Push-pins are ridiculous when you're popping coolers off and on as many times as people around here are in the habit of doing. More pressure, better distribution, better cooling for $5.

I cut off the "push pins" and went to Home depot and picked up a bolt + nut combo for 79 cents. Works for me.
I've got brass nuts and brass bolts from a hardware store as well Works like awesomesauce in a bottle.
But how does this new cooler rate against the TR-IFX-14? I have one on my e8400 Wolfie with some AS5 and 2x 120mm fans pushing to the top exhaust. With 450 fsb @ 1.6v (4.2GHz) core temps peaked at 76C during 10 minutes of 100% load testing. Also running it inside a Antec Nine Hundred with 5x 120mm intake fans and a 200mm exhaust.
As far as I know, IFX-14 is the 2nd best air cooler on the market in terms of performance, but the one that beat it apparently sounds like a boeing jet inside a large bathroom so the TR wins in the noise/performance department.
