    Why are pots soo stubborn?

last night my pots were working fine (not soldered to my video card or anything...)

and now, i try turning them and they wont even change resistance!!

is it me or the pot?

what pot did you use? some pots are sensitive to heat, so if you soldered the cable to the pot for too long you kight have damaged it.

thats why i use trimm pots, they are extremely heat resistant and dont change their resistance if they get hot.

when theyre soldered to the card they dont have the same resistance as they had before since you dont meassure the resistance of the pot anymore but the resistance of the pot+resistance of the circuit you soldered it on...
