    Foxconn Blackops. 9800GX2 (28.9K 06)

I see so many 9800GX2 threads here

Well these are my first test. I got this card yesterday, so I haven't got much time to play with it.

    Messy setup:

This wasn't good bench day at all. Everything that can go wrong, did go wrong All parts are still working, so I quess everything is ok after all.
I could be the happy 29K result owner, but 06 test always crashed at some point. I tested it about 100 times today

And last thing is the driver. I did tests with 174.74 and 01 was bad.

    Ok.. the screens now.

    06: (28915)

    05: (36765)

    03: (86225)

    01: (107420)

    AM3: (335.610)

More to come when I get everything work like they should. GPUs could also be more cold than with stock air.
You are as good as your samples are!

    Thanks guys!

Yes I had a lot problems yesterday. For some reason board didn't work like it should. Cpu can do 3DM06 test at 5.75GH (13x442MHz). Score would have been great with that speed.

This morning I did some more benching, but couldn't get any better results.

    Little improvement in 01:

E: I didn't remember to open details window in that screenshot. Look at that car high Here is orb link: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9356215

Very nice The reason your 01 is low, is that you MUST use the 173.67 driver, og CH will be low by 50-60fps. use the that driver, and it will fly

Damn. I didn't have enough time to test different drivers. Those drivers that I did use are good for 06 though.

It must be the drivers or your card is not stable. I think it is the driver.

Thanks! I think the latest is the best for 06.

By the way. Did you suffer any black screens during your bench session? Did you mod the PCI-E chip voltage?

I had some black screen problems if voltage were over 1.35V or the reason was clock speed. (over 830MHz and PCI-E chip couldn't handle it?)

Its seems to have some kind of OVP close to 1.4v. I know Vince have seen that, and myself also .....some cards dont seem to have it though. maybe we should try a different BIOS?

I have to start looking what is causing this.

Hardest tests are 3DM06 GT2 and 03 GT 3/4. Same tests are the hardest for 3870X2 too. That's the reason why I thought about the PCI-E chip. Too much traffic through one chip.. I hope that's not the reason.

Yes ... i've got the same problem...PCI-e can't handle that much of а traffic , i got a lot of black screens and hang-ups during my test with PCI-e over 115-120 mhz
Never happen before , i was thinking it's driver related (174.74), but it occur even with the official ones ...
Though i manage to break 10k SM2 and near 11k SM3 with fully stock and unmoded GX2 from Gigabyte....

DStealth- I will test what PCI-E speed does to my black screen issues. I don't think it will have any affect (I was talking about the onboard PCI-E link chip) I think this issue is similar as 7900GT black screens.

Does someone know more about the volterra 1165 controller circuit? It would be nice to see pin layout.

Hi mate. What PCI-E MHz I used? From 101MHz to 120MHz, but it didn't make any difference. Only car high is bad with 174.74
