Oh Noes! More Koolance Fittings!

Okey i got my package from koolance.

Have to say one thing. The quick connects, i dont recomend them. Using my highly calibrated super accurate tool [my mouth and lungs] you can feel restriction when you blow on them. More so then a right angle. So i decided to forgo on them. But yeah they look restrictive.

Anyhow some more eye sores!

I usually don't worry too much about elbows and what not, but that looks really restrictive, especially coupled with a Supreme.

AHAHAHAHA.... actually i was only kidding. That last pic was for a comparison of the two barbs, but i went overboard with that brass thingy.

Im gonna just go with regular copper elbows and then use silcon sealant to seal it because i cant thread a copper tube as barbs. I was only playing it off, because of the comment iany made on another thread about me and koolance.


But im gonna leave those pictures there just for iany!


The real reason (honest) for those koolance Brass Junction was so i can use my dual inlet dual DDC Alphacool top. NOT to do that.

If you are not using the quick disconnects, would you mind sending a pair (right and straight) to Martin so he could calculate the actual flow restriction? Not that I am questioning the validity of your highly scientific methodology!

Koolance replied to me (very quick customer service, that i'll have to give it to them) yesterday with the claim that these improved quick disconnects would be about equal to a G1/4" thread in terms of effective ID...so I thought, what the hack, lets grab 2 pairs and that bling bling flow meter as well and try them out

Their flow meter scares me..... It almost does a complete 360* turn.
That cant be good can it? I often thought about it to...... but everyone says just look at the Res for flow response.

Very true. But its the only one that can output the flow rate directly to an RPM display with each rpm = 1 ml per mins
Very useful for testing purposes but totally useless as a permanent item in a loop since I wouldn't expect flow rates to change much unless I switch out blocks.

Using the "all else being equal" method, i can test the loop with the flow meter, then remove it, safe in the knowledge that flow rate will be at least what I've read off the thing

That's quite a reservoir you've got there, nicked it off some old ladies aquarium did you?

I love koolance too, they make their own fittings, their own threads with their own thread sizes, their own hoses, waterblocks, reservoirs, radiators, pumps, even kitchen sinks for ya, and none of their products (with the only exception being their ram blocks, but their kill yer flow too) are better than matching products from other brands.
That's a reason to koolance for ya right there.

derwen the brass junction is a Y as well. Look at those pictures.

I am going to use the 4 compression fittings to connect the dual inlet with the dual outlet of that junction. The junction then has a single inlet on one side, otherwise my perfect Y for the top.

Martin thinks its a great idea, and yeah, i am gonna send him the fittigns if he wants to test them. But right now i think he's done enough with the rd-30 testing so lets give him a breather yeah?

That brass junction as a wye just seems like it's going to create restriction on the inlet which makes me a sad panda!
