Yea I'm using the latest BIOS, version: 11.0.1-0054
I'm using the Seagate Cheetah 15k rpm SAS drive as my boot drive, so disabling the LSI card's BIOS is not an option...
Also now I created a "short stroked" RAID5 partition on the LSI controller, with a usable partition size of 4TB.
I made this partition a GPT partition but I'm still able to boot from it because I have the Windows BOOTMGR on the Cheetah drive...

Performance is much better vs the ICH9R RAID5 for general usage.
However there seems to be a bottleneck in the LSI 8704ELP controller.
Because on the ICH9R I get ca 350MB/sec in max speed and then it falls down gradually to slightly below 200MB/sec at 8TB (It's ca 280MB/sec at 4TB)
But with the LSI controller I get basically a straight line at just below 300MB/sec, see screenshot below:

Here is the same test with the ICH9R instead, actual partition size is 8TB but I short stroked it to the same size as the LSI is limited to for this test:

Don't know if this will help, but >here< is the link for the latest official ver.1001 bios modded with the same Raid Rom for TRIM

As per performance, i believe the LSI is more consistent in performance , the 350MB/s on the ICH9R is just a spike...check the minimum rate on both controllers...of course the LSI should have more, but even that way, LSI average>Intel average

Yea the thing is that the test was not completely fair, I tested the performance of the LSI from XP x64 (Which runs from the Cheetah HDD)
And the Intel was done with Win7 installed on the RAID5 (Since I could not boot the system with the LSI controller installed I had to do it that way)
Here is another graph of the LSI, taken in Win7 installed on the RAID5 array, it's still really good though I admit:

And here is another graph with me inducing some extra seeks by using the computer at the same time.
In the first dip I just expand the menu items on the start-menu so Windows has to load the icons.
In the second big dip I scroll through the System32 folder...
I guess it just proves how fantastic SSD's are compared to HDD's

    Hello all,

It's been a while since I've posted here. I need some honest opinions on a problem I have. I just can't seem to get my rampage formula x48 stable when playing battlefield 4. Other games, no problem. Prime95 occt stable. I figure it's the constant buffering from OS to vram to ram which stresses the hell out of the nor bridge. I get bsod along with a reboot. I've tried many settings, including the references from the x38/x48 bios settings thread. The best I can do as of now is to over volt the North bridge to 1.8v which I am not comfortable with.

    Q9550 e0 4.1ghz
ive tried both my 6gb micron d9 rams and 8gb Ocz gold 1066 rams
Sapphire 7970 dual x oc (reference)
    Ax1200 psu

Only battlefield 4 causes this crash.

So my main question is, will the custom modded bios help with this? Any feed back on these custom bios's and York field CPUs on a high overclock?

Everything is watercolour except the North bridge. Nb has been re-pasted. Nb temp on load is around 50c.

Please ignore signature, it's outdated. Will update it soon.

The modded BIOS has CPU Clock Skew, NB Clock Skew and Refresh Period (tREF). These are very nice features to fine tune the BIOS overclock settings.

I've been using the latest modded version for quite some time now without any issues.

What's the error code from the BSOD?

Nvm i fixed it. I changed both GTL to 0.67 and set the dram skews to advance 350. everything is great now

    Yo Alien Grey!
Are you still working around with the 775 socket?
What happened to the ancient ASUS Forum? Do you have a link?
