    i started with my oc and i got 4,050mhz at the moment.... its not too much.

    here there are the pics of the system and the bios settings.

    i tried to get 4,2 or 4,3ghz raising the fsb to 470-480, but the bios doesnt even start at that specs.

    the system is:

    RAMPAGE FORMULA (SB with hr-05 sli; NB with hr-05).
    E8600 with thermal extreme with 120fan.
    4GB OCZ 1066 5-5-5-15
    1000W CORSAIR
    RAPTOR
    4870X2

    any help with this?? i want to have a 24/7 around 4,2-4,3ghz

    performance level?also try with dram static read control disabled.

    From your screenshot i see you have a tRFC value of 36, try set it ho higher value, for example at 55. A high row refresh cycle time is needed to run 4x1 GB.
    You may also try to set NB GTL at 0.67x

    Quick question for the vets here - I'm using my Rampage formula with a Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) CAS4 DHX kit. It's specced for 4-4-4-12 (IIRC) @ 800Mhz @ 2.1v. I just can't get it stable at these settings. I tried (one at a time and then in combination) relaxing the timings (A LOT), lowered the speed to 667 (so that mem could run 1:1), increased the mem voltage slightly (to 2.2v) and it just won't get very far into the boot process (it posts fine).

    Each stick is stable individually and passes Memtest, but I just can't get them working as a pair. I have them in slots 1 and 3 (counting the slots as 1-2-3-4) and using 2-4 doesn't work. I'm running bone stock at the moment in terms of other settings. I even tried a slight MCH voltage bump, but that didn't help.

    Should I start playing with clock skews for each slot or should I take this as a sign that I'm not going to get very far with this kit?

    CPU is a Q9450 in case that matters.

    Is it possible to run ram at 1T in this board?

    I set it to 1T, the board boots fine but in windows it shows 2T in cpu-z, everest, etc, but if I restart and enter the bios it says it is configured to 1T.

    Yes, anywhere from 900mhz down, depending on ram, but performance is

    I'm running a conservative 4.2Ghz, it's hot here. I'm running 8x525 for 4.2 prime stable. I'll post a ss as I'm a little too lazy to take bios shots.

    Try this, if you're interested:

    strap=333
    multi=8
    fsb=525
    ram freq.=1050
    dram skew=a/b=300
    dram static=disabled
    aiclock twister=auto
    pl=9

    cpu vcore=?
    cpupll=1.50v
    nb=1.55v
    dram=?
    fsbt=1.34
    sb=1.14v
    sb 1.5v=1.65v
    loadline=disable for now (you'll need to bump vcore by about 0.3v
    GTLs= Leave all at auto for now

    here there the results i got following the instructions, reading and trying....

    -Static Ram set to Disable.
    -Twister set to Strong.
    -Transaction Boost doesnt work....every time i enable it, bios wont boot no matter the value i put (normally 8). i have to leave it to Auto.

    i manage to get it to fsb 475mhz x9= 4,275ghz.

    RAM 950mhz 4-4-4-12 2T.
    tRD 7.
    tRFC 45.

    the Vcore is at 1,3375v and NB 1,51v.

    it looks like it can be pushed higher easily, but for 24/7 im going to leave it like this.

    is it looking right for it??

    Hey guys, I am thinking about sending my P5Q Deluxe back and get either a Maximus Formula II or this Rampage Formula. I will be running the stuff in my sig so what are your recommendations, P45 or X48? I would like to run my Q9550 @ 3.8 for daily use.
    Thanks...

    Bump - any suggestions or comments about my inability to run this RAM dual channel on this board?

    been too busy with work lately to break my stable settings!
    i'm out of headroom on this cpu with current cooling, and out of clocking headroom on these ram sticks! was going to watercool the cpu and NB for fun, but x58 + i7 will be out in a month or so. Seems pointless to spend money on things i'll be upgrading then that aren't compatible, if I find anything I'll be sure to post it ;>

    Have you tried lowering the PL settings?

    I just had 3 sticks of Gskill die on me . They used to run with a PL of 7.

    But my temporary replacement of ultra cheap OCZ 800mhz ram won't even boot unless I set the PL to 10.

    I personally will recommend that you get the X48*, just so I we can help with any questions, and the BIOS is now mature.

    However, I would have to recommend the P45 on price alone. You can get a P45 Maximus II Formula for $265, the Rampage Formula is still at $290 .

    Uhm yeah looks pretty crowded, is that case just really small or does the massive tubing making it tiny?

    If the price was not an issue would your choice be the Rampage for a Q9550?
