    I have 10.8.0.1003 on Windows 7 x64
Still same problem here, with R6 bios too.

I can't install any intel rst drivers on windows 8. I've tried 11.2 and 11.5 versions.

Solor, where could be the bug? Thank you very much for keeping supporting this MB.

    Bye

    edit:
I also tried to install them manually with no success.
    versions I tried: 12 beta, 11.1.5, 11.5.0 and 11.5.2

Should I go back to bios R3? Where can I find it?

dont know why this happens, i dont have RAID anymore so i didnt really bother with intel drivers on Win8, i noticed i cant install them (AHCI ones) so i just kept MS drivers. However after quick look inside .inf of 11.5.2 drivers there should be support for RAID driver (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2822&CC_0104.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller" ), however support in AHCI inside .inf seems to be missing in all 11.x and 12.x drivers (device ID that should be there is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2922&CC_0106)...

    Thank you for the answer!
At the moment I was able only to install RST drivers 10.8. Better than the stock ones I think (7.0)
I need the AHCI drivers not the RAID ones.

If i had time, i could mod the drivers to install the 11.x, but then i will not be sure, if it will cause any blue-screen somehow one day !
I think the risk it is not worth it, i think no new features will be get in our old hardware!

well i tried this but win8 64bit is complaining about invalid signatures like little baby and i have integrity checks for drivers disabled... Didnt put any more time in to it then 3 min, i think there is a way to mod driver, just dont know if its worth it....

Are you saying that the bios revision doesn't matter?
I'm thinking about trying with the 1002-R3 version of bios, but I can't find it anymore on internet. Could you please re-up it?

Thank you, I'll do some try.
But reading the .inf files I assumed that the ICH9R is not supported anymore by these intel RST drivers (11.xx and upper).

it does not have AHCI drivers, but it does have RAID driver... you can also try to run controller in RAID mode, it suppose to be same as AHCI + ability for RAID, bootup is that sec or two slower since bios needs to initialize raid controller but do you really care? afaik even intel recommends raid over ahci even for single drives....

I am having a weird problem. This the message is solor.

Hey man. Thanks a lot i updated to it. However, i have a very weird problem. I have a qx9770. in the bios my fsb is 450 with a 9x multiplier so its 4.05ghz. However cpu z and everest state for the third and 4th core, the core multiplier is 8x.

So basically for the first two cores i have 4.05ghz 1800 fbs 10x multiplier but for the third and 4th core its all the same exept 8x multiplier so its 3600 ghz.

I actually believe that both of these cores are under clocked. I went to the bios and checked to make sure i had everything set correctly. it was. All the cpu features in the advanced menu is disabled, but i don't have an option for intel speed step.

I am going to downgrade the bios. to 1001 to see if it fixes this problem. I am just asking you what you think the problem is. I tested my scores in 3dmark vantage cpu and i get 1500 respectively, last run i got 14970. I believe this is a tad lower than what i should be getting making me believe that cpu z isn't lying to me.

    How is this even possible?

I am not new to overclocking. I would think this is impossible. how can two cores be stuck at 8x. I feel i can't do anything to make sure besides a bios downgrade. I am running solors r6 bios. I recently got this qx9770 for really cheap. thought why not, just upgraded from a dual core lol.

Ok i fixed it. I had to downgrade to 1001, intel speed step option was no longer listed using the modified bios. Downgraded to 1001 and it was listed again. Not to sure what the problem was but when i disabled it all 4 cores were back to 4.05 ghz.

I can't believe that this thread is still alive after all this time.

It's also great to see that SoLoR still cares to update the modded BIOS. It's been a while since I've tried one of the new modded BIOS on my ASUS Rampage Formula. It's going to have to wait for a little longer because my graphics card died and I'm still waiting for my AquaGraFX watercooled Inno3D GeForce GTX 760.

I'm wondering if my ASUS Rampage Formula with Q9650@4.05GHz is going to be good enough for a GTX 760.

hehe well im still using rampage formula, i found out that since i stoped playing games, computer from 5 years is still good enough however i dont update bios frequently, i updated bios one day when i was bored and had nothing to do... however since i dont use raid anymore, i didnt test it if it works properly... it boots in raid mode, so it should work, but im not 100%.
