Ace, check this thread for some hints and info
To boot at high FSBs ( higher than 450MHz ) you'll need to relax your timings, and then re-set them to what you want through MemSet within Windows.
The memory dividers ( FSB/DRAM Ratios ) play a big role in overclocking in every X38/X48 motherboard, and the GA-X48T-DQ6 is no exception.
You need to choose the best divider for the desired FSB.
Also note, that the FSB Strap control is "integrated" with the DRAM/FSB Ratios.
Also make sure you're running BIOS version F4H ( I've posted a download link for it ).

there is about 0.020v to 0.025v Vdroop under load.
i also see, at least for my board, that vcore regulation is taxed once i go to 4ghz overclock...i have to raise the vcore to support 4ghz but the small increase in indicated turns out to be a whopping increase of 0.04v...NOT good!
when i back it down to 3.9ghz and then reduce the set vcore, it behaves a little better...breaking point where the actual vcore jump seems to be around 1.55v set in the bios.
of course, the Vcore readout in PC Health Status is lower than actual by about 0.025...i read off a DMM off one of the resistors between DIMM slot #1 and cpu socket...i'll get a picture to show where i am reading it...appears to be accurate as i adjust (up & down) the set vcore.
i noticed "Easy Tune 5 Pro" is very close to actual vcore when you read the set or indicated vcore that is set...i read out on the DMM of about 0.005v difference (lower) than what Easy Tune 5 Pro says is set!
EDIT:...easy tune 5 pro acts squirrely when setting or changing the vcore...if i want a target vcore of around 1.55, i need to set something around 1.52-1.53...this is really weird; after clicking on, say, 1.525v setting, it shows the mouse hour glass as if the new vcore voltage is being set...a few seconds later, right after the mouse hour glass disappearing, the indication jumps up about 0.025 - 0.030v....i go to measure it on the board and the newly indicated vcore, that just jumped/increased by 0.025 to 0.030v, is now very close to being accurate, when readout out on the DMM.

Hey Ace I was wondering was there any particular reason for picking the Gigabyte over any other manufacturer? I guess Asus is the only other choice for DDR3 x48 boards at the moment but I was wondering if there was a specific motivation.

mine was partly due to price (no surprise there) and then availability...the giga cost $330 (DDR3) while asus' version was going to cost $400....asus is now available....i know; DDR3 memory is up there...but, a year ago or little longer i paid the same price for 2gig's of corasir dominators as i paid for my 4 gig's of GSkill DDR3.
giga made a nice board with some quirks and i am hoping for a newer bios soon...the only quirk, that is bothersome, is setting vcore...the value i set jumps/increases by 0.03v to 0.04...luckily for me, i can read it out from the board to know exactly what is set....i might re-flash the bios with the latest bios and boot block just to make sure the code is not corrupted in the boot block, which is home for the memory straps and voltages.

Nice to hear, I was considering the jump to DDR3 but prices are just beginning to drop and I have a feeling 1600 speed sticks are gonna be a lot cheaper in a month.
My DFI UT P35 just died, (due to user error if you know what I mean), and I was looking at the new X48 and 790i boards for a replacement. The more I read about the 790i based boards the more skittish I am about NForce chips. Ultimately I decided to just wait a bit more before going with DDR3 and I'm going to try the ASUS Rampage Forumula.
First time I've tried ASUS in years, I've only had one good board from them out of 3 so I'm hoping for the best. Otherwise I'm gonna follow this thread and perhaps pickup the board in a month or so.

Helps a lot on memory overclocking and the dividers issues ( not totally )
And I thought the 4GB Kit from GSkill for 465 was a good deal, (Down from 499 last week). That looks like a nice kit from OCZ.
Another month and prices should start getting sane. It'll also give a chance for more X48 mobos to get released and debugged. I'm tired of the bleeding edge for now. I'd really like to see Foxconn's BlackOps and Abit's offerings.

Yep I saw that, I followed Richard's X38 thread & it was often confusing then. There were probably less T boards then there will be this time as well .
Couldn't run @1800 stably on shipping F4 bios. Saw guess2098 postThought Ha , flashed to F4A and so far it's still not fully stable oh humi use F4h bios, been told that is latest bios. the original F4 bios doesn't do over DDR3 1600...
NB is running pretty hot 55C idle per Everest with much of the heat being shifted to the SB via the heatpipes. May be getting my waterblock out soon

i tried the F4H but i had some problems...it could be that the memory was being set to command rate of 1...i have been setting that manually....the only reason i say "one" is the settings to the left of actual settings says that.

if motherboard temp readout in everest is the NB temp then i am getting 31C idle and about 44C running "wPrime" 1024M bench.
i torqued those NB screws to make sure it had excellent clamping action...i also added a 40mm vertical standing fan blowing through the NB heatsink.
