Maryland Police Refuse To Pay Speed Camera Tickets

    Thought this was funny,

Among the thousands of drivers who have been issued $40 fines after being nabbed by Montgomery County’s new speed cameras are scores of county police officers. The difference is, many of the officers are refusing to pay.

The officers are following the advice of their union, which says the citations are issued not to the driver but to the vehicle’s owner — in this case, the county.

The plural of "anecdote" is not "data."

Yeah that's really stupid. The police are trying to bail out of the law they are supposed to be enforcing.... Good job officers, give all coppers a bad name now!

I kinda's agree with the decision. Not it's in the counties court. It's their job to go after those cops.

Refuse to pay, then give them a car that does 30mph max and see how long they last before coughing up the dough (nuts )

    Leading by example?

If I was caught speeding I would say " It's a fair cop".

Seems that is not the case though.

    Regards

Technically, they are above the law. They can speed if they have reason. And if they are asked, they can make something up.
