Unofficial Athlon X2 4850e (and other 45W!!!) Overclocking thread
4850e has the same 2.5GHz clock speed and 1MB L2 cache as the Athlon X2 4800+, but with a TDP of just 45 watts.
They don't seem to be selling yet, anyone got one?
personal OC results?
a 4850e w/ an 790 or 780 chipset mobo combo for $149.99 would make my day! (and keep me an amd customer)

Don't have one yet... but kinda intersesting, it beats a Phenom with the TLB patch enabled on Euler3D

I tested an 4850e in the M3A. At 3.125GHz the chip required the same amount of voltage that my BE2400 and my 5000BE required ~1.475V.
But that chips need realy low voltage for 2.5GHZ ~1.175V in opposite to the other two.
At 2GHz the chip is stable at 1V and uses max 1.3A(~16W) (prime95+3dmark06).

if it can overclock like others g2, for this price...
4850e reading is incomplete in CPU-Z

Actually, I built the system 3 weeks ago for my college. He seems to like his new AMD64 platform, but he has never liked AMD before! Intel was everything for him!

There is also 485B model which is unlocked, but I have not seen it in Belarus yet.

The 5000BE is a black edition...and it's G2...if you underclock/undervolt, you'd have a 45W chip. So, I don't see them releasing another BE chip.

Those 45W chips are just selected(binned) for lower power consumption at a given frequency.
I tested an BE2400 and 4850e and an 5000BE. At 3.125GHz they all required ~1.475V.
So for overclocking in that price segement the 5000BE is the best way to go due to it's unlocked multi.

I really like the effort you put into that app showing all the prozessor details. However on the mobility page it seems that you use the current-p-state register instead of the p-state-0 register for the cores. I run my cpu with an 11 multi at the moment, the multi in p-state-0 is 11,5 on my 9600BE. The page shows an 11x multi for p-state-0.
Also i'm using an CPU-DID of 0 (means divide by 1) but the page shows an Divisor ID of 8.
On the northbridg page I see you prepare to read out all the memory timing. In unganged mode those can be different for the two dct's. An additional drop down to select the dct might help.
