The TR IFX-14 has a very similar looking back-plate cooler which sticks out from the side, though not out of the case ... very interesting to say the least ... I am sure once a few people get their hands on it, we'll see some different ways of how some active cooling with fans will look ...

i myself have ddr3-1375 a half year already, but decided to back to ddr2 with dfi x38 for awhile, nehalen etc

Exactly rijoa.DDR3 is near pointless for me under those speeds you listed.1800 AND above ok.Below 1800 DDR3 is no better then hi end DDR2.

MotherboardPro.com is starting to ship boards out.

does this bring a cooler for the SB? I saw some pics online with and without with some folks declaring either point...

If not, then what's a decent HS for it?

Talked with shawn at DFI San Hose about the DFI LP LT X48 T2R.The cooling is identical to the DFI X38 version.My board should arrive thurs/fri.We shall see.

I sort of want to see the cooling configurations as I do not see them in the pictures. I want to put my MCW30 on the NB so I need to ensure that: a. it fits and b. the heatsinks for other components are not attached to it.

Go look in the DFI x38 thread, there are some pics & people in there that use the MCW30 on there x38 which is laid out the same as the up coming x48.

i ordered mine a week ago , but it feels like ive been waiting a month!! lol
cant wait to get this freak'n board in , i have all my watercooling gear i just bought laid out , cleand and ready for install. i even built my own case out of perspex for it ,so thats waiting as well. new drives and more crucials 1066 modules also . just need that board. hate having to wait for stuff.

Mine gets delivered tomm afternoon. Also waiting on an Enzotech SNBW to show as well. Wish I could have found a block for the Mosfets to order, but that will need to be later I guess.

I paid for Fedex 2 day shipping, as the only time I'll have to install is this weekend. End of my vacation here and back to work to pay for all the toys on monday

Every DFI board i purchase on launch always appears used.

No known differnces at this time,outside of sticker(x48)and NB etched with x48.Will look into bios shortly for a differnce.Odd bug?When i disable lan2 in bios,it disables lan1 also.Ill look into the sticker on next power down.No warranty sticker on NB.

So only one single difference from X38 is second revizion of NB?
Perhaps it could run to 600fsb.

Seems to be the same exact board as the X38 but they just swapped out the chipset. All cooling is the same. Board came directly from DFI (ordered from motherboardpro.com) in CA after passing customs. Packaging was absolute crap...Just motherboard box thrown in a larger FedEx box, no insulation, and rattled around a lot in shipping.

Think it says "X38" underneath "X48" sticker, but haven't pulled it off.
