I just got my Striker II extreme from newegg, along with a 9650 And some corsair Cas7 ram. Ohh and I didnt use a fresh install of Vista... I used the one that my M2N-32 SLI was using. Just installed drivers and ran 3dmark. Also, I'm supposed to get a free copy of the Advanced version of 3dmark06 but I cant seem to find the registration key or anything. Ohh and the GT's are in SLI.

    Here's my initial run

    Latest version?

Checked cpu-z 1.44.1 , when i increase the vcore, cpu-z still says 1.36 so seems to be broken.

Coretemp doesn't readout Vcore does it, it only reads out VID... I don't own the latest version though, only one way to find out and to get out the DMM... that would be mad if ya board would overvolt so much... I too have readout issues wiht my foxconn MARS, completely bonkers....
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    I'm pretty sure it's a readout fault.
So I hope a newer bios will solve this.

As soon as I get my board (hopefully next weekend), I will give it a try. Right now, my Q6600 G0 is running a 400FSB (with 9x multiplier) just fine on my Maximus Formula, and my only reason to upgrade is to be able to run another 8800GTX in SLI (already here so I'm aching to set it all up). I don't know the limit of my Q6600, don't know how far my current cooling can push it, but I guess I can go and find my FSB wall (you know, set the multiplier to 6x and just find the highest FSB possible).

I'll keep you updated on my findings, anything in particular you want to know?

No_Name, thanks for the 0507 BIOS, will be useful. I saw a video of you overclocking at CeBIT 2008, impressive to say the least. Wish I could do that kind of thing...

According to Intel's specifications, and I'm sure they know best, it's actually 71C. I've been running my G0 at 3.6GHz under load over 68C for hours just fine, although I never reach that when gaming or encoding video or whatever CPU intensive work I do.

Hey quick question... SIIE is supposed to come with the advanced version of 3DMark06... but where do I find the registration code? I read the manual, box, everything and I cant find it anywhere. Even explored the contents of the driver CD. no luck finding it.

nothing on the cd jacket, there is a CD key on the other jacket for the game that came with it, but the motherboard cd (that contains the 3dmark06 installer) has no writing on it at all.

I have a Asus Striker II Extreme as well (will update my sig when my build is done).
Is it safe to remove the fat thremal pad under the heatsink part on the two MOFSET areas around the CPU? I am worrying that the insulation is needed to avoid a short? (but the thermal conductivity must be horrible with 2mm TIM).

The mosfet legs are located lower than the black heatgenerating area, you won't short it if you exchange the thick pad for normal thermal grease

I put MX-1 on both north/south bridge and the two mofset areas (all surfaces directly in contact with the heatpipe system). MX-1 was a pain to apply due to the dry consistence but I hope it is fine. I am honestly not sure what you mean about the memory volt regs?
