according to webwilli and another guy i talked to yes, there are still fsb holes around 400fsb, at least on the asus 790 board :/

CPU VTT = FSB Termination Voltage.
check the legs of the capacitors around the cpu socket, thats usually a good spot to read vcore afaik.

No issues with any FSB holes here. Early bios maybe?

I read vCore from one of the inductors around the socket. Use the leg closest to the cpu socket to get the most accurate reading.

Ncix had 2 in stock when I ordered it yesterday. Decent price too($434+insurance+ S&H)Now its down to 1 and my order status is not going anywhere. Will they honor my order and ship it monday or do you guys think that I should cancel.

BTW, my first order @ NICX and am already not happy. Called em up yesterday and no answer(was directed to the vociemail).I have been so used to the fast shipping from the egg(been a customer of their's since 2001).

in my case i had to rotate the southbrigde cooler, but that is no problem.

but i love my pci soundcard (auzentech xplosion) so i stick with 2way sli.

I don't mean to sound offensive, but why spend all the extra money for a Water cooled board and then replace it with your own? Wouldn't it have been easier to do with a EVGA board?

However I bet that thing runs really cool with that set up. Very nice

Only the NorthBridge is water cooled, the voltage regs and SouthBridge aren't. As for the evga comment, price-wise you may be correct. But there are quite a few differences between the ASUS 790i and the Foxconn reference boards from XFX and evga.

    Cool
I have my XF-i in the lowest pci slot (under the 3rd vga)
So you might be able to do tri-sli and use your auzentech
Did you use the EK Striker I blocks?
Have my Striker II Ex in the house now and still have my Striker I blocks somewhere, might give it a try

    What about memory placement?
Nvidia recommend to use the black slots on their reference mobos.
That are slot 2 and 4, counting from processor.
Asus says to use the blue slots, thats slot 1 and 3.
    Anyone tried whats best?
Maybe Asus changed the layout a bit?

I'm having a lot of trouble getting the Striker II Extreme to run with any FSB overclock over 350... the system passes all the torture tests with flying colours, 7+ hours ORTHOS blend, 2 hours OCCT Mix. But then the system randomly shuts down, BSOD, programs randomly terminates, and especially likely when running 3DMark06, PCMark Vantage and shutting down the PC. Latest BIOS and relaxing the memory timing don't help, raising all voltages made it even worse... Very disappointed. It is currently running at 333 FSB x12 multiplyer, 909 Memory.

Have since ordered a EVGA 790i Ultra as replacement until better BIOS fix the Asus Mobo..

Wow ... really nice results you all have with the Striker ... Especially Elmor's SPi 32M run is pretty damn' good

I also want to ask sth ... Anybody found Vdrop problems yet ? 'Cause Asus un-modded boards have that problem generally ...

@The Mighty: Terrific watercooled setup you got there dude !

I'm also interested in this. What would be better, 4x1 or 2x2 for dual core and for quad core overclocking?
