Yep, as Jack said: http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont..._Press_Q-A.pdf
You can see it being made here: http://www.amd.com/us-en/0,,3715_155...l?redir=45nm01
I wasn't sure exactly until recently but learnt that they will be high-k dielectric with ultra low-k interconnects at 2.4 k value, using Dual Stress Liners with four stressors and air pockets. It won't have HT 3.0 AFAIK though, and I expect it by October.
Looking Up for AMD Gotta love them Krauts they are by Far IMO the best Engineers in the World

Coincindentally, one of the top AMD scientists on the 45nm project is originally from very close to the Bangladesh borders. The fellas there have immense electrical talent if they have the resources.
So, we should hope to see some performance numbers leaking from someone somewhere fairly soon. I'm pretty excited about this launch - hopefully with some availability by "October".HANNOVER, Germany. -- March 4, 2008 AMD Demos 45nm Native Quad-Core Processors for Server, Desktop — Customer Testing of Product Samples Underway —

Whats with phenom, 45nm and Bangladesh?
im from bangladesh
most people around here havent even heard about the phenom tho, and many dont even know AMD. even during the A64 golden days, sales figures were 96+% intel
overclocking? nope, seemingly NOONE i have met knows about it, and computer sales shops refer it as "trying to fry PC components"
i have assembled computers to friends, just to amaze them with benchmarks showing their pc's outperforming their friends ones and spending less aswell

Unfortunately, the initial data is not too promising... it looks to be about 5%-8% improved over 65 nm... hard to tell, they did not show PMOS data, but PMOS usually lags NMOS:

But AMD's 45 nm will be improved, they will get a nice power reduction at the same clocks.

KTE, the initial batches will be made with high purity silicon before they make the move to high-k.
Shanghai won't have HT 3 but Deneb will.
@JumpingJack, I saw those figures quite some time ago and they probably are irrelevant now because of the move to high-k. Although there is no doubt intel will still have the process lead by some margin.
How are the Opterons on AM2 performing anyway vs Phenom's/Athlon X2's? I mean, I never forget my Opteron 146, 1.8Ghz right away to 2.9Ghz ghehe. But how are the Opty's with AM2? Any significant improvements OC wise?

So, Shanghai is just 2 Quads glued together?
Instead of making another thread, I'll ask here. Anyone know where I might find an 89w 6000+?
I've been able to find one via froogle for a much too high price.
brucevangeorge,
Shanghai = 45nm QC K10
Montreal = 45nm OC-MCM K10
You were not supposed to see this.
Montreal = 45nm Native octa-core
yup it's the FUD
