AMD X2 BE-2350 - Fanless or Silent Solution

    Hi,

I have an Media Center / Server, with an AMD X2 BE-2350 (45W). This PC is running 24/7 but the stock cooler is very noisy.

Is it possible to have a fanless cooler with this CPU 24/7?
I was thinking in Scythe Shuriken (without the fan):

    What do you think?

If it's not possible, what do you recommend for a good silent, low profile, solution?

    I have this options:
    Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 LP
    Silverstone NT07-AM2

    Thanks!

    what do you mean?

With passive shuriken the CPU can get quite hot, but you can use a 80 or 92mm fan from Noctua which is virtually silent. You can also try the bigger brother of Shuriken - Zipang, it's 11cm tall with fan (140mm, silent). I'm, pretty sure you could dismount the fan and it will be ok. Without fan it's like 8.5cm tall and will deal with the CPU for sure
You can also try Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 with Noctua fan

All solutions mentioned above should be virtually silent or even silent.

    Hope could help
Pentax k10d and a backpack of lenses...

The cooler must have a maximum height of 8.5cm (with fan included).

This CPU is not very hot, but it's in a small case, an Aerocool Aerocube.

    I'm between this 3 choices:

    Scythe Shuriken

    http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products.../shuriken.html

    Silverstone Nitrogon NT07-AM2

    http://www.silverstonetek.com/produc...7-am2&area=usa

    Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 LP

Shuriken must have the best performance, but it's the bigger. I don't need very good performance. I just need silence.
The Silverstone cooler is too small, and I can't find reviews, so I don't know if it is any good.
Arctic Cooling is known for their silent and cheap coolers, but this one has 2 fans and I don't think they are replaceable.

    shuiken will perform the best.

nitrogen is a 1U solution and will be rediculously noisy

Freezer 64 LP is ok, but big..

All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.

is your CPU OC'ed? If not, try to undervolt the cpu to its lowest vcore possible then you wont need a fan .
In my Celly 420 (35W) I can undervolt from 1.28V to 0.868V in cpu (stock clock) and the temperature is same as ambient
