    Foxconn Mars cannot boot

    Hi,

I am posting on my mac as my foxconn board cannot boot

    Problem:

I installed 2 x 1 GB (DDR2-800) in either DIMM 1, 3 or 2,4 and tried to boot. It boots but when it gets to bios screen it shuts down and it keeps on cycling. I tried with another brand of RAM and it does the same thing too (this RAM was working on another board). 1st brand of RAM is crucial and 2nd one is Patriot

However, when I use one stick, it boots up fine????? The ram is not faulty, i'm certain of that. It is running F06 bios, it came with as I couldnt update bios via MS-dos cos it wont do it. I update it but when i check it still reads 06 bios. Very frustrating.

Is there something wrong that I am doing or is this a dud board?

    Ta

    can u d/l latest bios p11
    from
    http://www.quantum-force.net/
and flash it with awdflash xxx.bin /wb" switch?
and also in case its ram, can u try more nb voltage and more vdimm voltage just to see if voltage was an issue?

Thanks for the quick reply mate. I really appreciate it

I am using Crucial tracers 2 x 1 GB DDR2-800 and I think their default is 1.8 isnt it? My CPU is 2160, so 200 x 9 (stock at the moment)

How mcuh NB should I raise?

    Specs: DDR2 PC2-6400 • 4-4-4-12 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-800 • 2.2V •

So set memory voltages to 2.2v and then set the timings to 4-4-4-12-2T

Thanks for the response mate. So I boot with one stick, set it to what you suggested. Shut down. Install another stick and boot again?
