Why is it that anything Foxconn makes gets knocked out of its existence within just a few months. Mars is officially discontinued. Bummer.

Besides, I thought p09 was the latest bios according to the update utility. It says its up to date. But their web sites where I dl the update-utility shows p11 available. Eh

is deactivated same as discontinued?
havent heard anything about it ...MARS is foxconn's entry in overclocking boards blackops is next ...dout if thier discontinued maybe just not sold in your area?

I just try the bios P11 and frankly is very bad, absolutely unstable with my E8400, the same frequencies and voltages.
After having tested a few hours, I decided to go back to the bios P09, which is far better at least for now.

I moved from G29 to P11 and it makes almost no difference. The reason is probably because I haven't OC the max out of it yet.

Maybe there were selling some dud mobos in the end, if you see the last reviews i was having similar and some more problems with the motherboard.

I too was wondering whether the Mars had been discontinued or just deactivated at Newegg. Is anyone still selling it?

I bought the Mars from Newegg at the same time as the reviewers who got the lemons and mine has been trouble-free for the most part. I had some issues getting drives on the sata ports recognized in linux (eventually resolved with a setting in the bios), but no problem with XP. I had reasonable success overclocking with OCZ Plat Rev 2 memory (2x1Gb), but much less success when I installed 4x1Gb of the same memory. (Although, being a beginner, my idea of OC'ing success is probably quite a step down from you experienced OC'ers.)

mine is a lemon. Cant boot with 2 stick of RAM......terrible

change to G29/G30 bios ram will work

and dont forget to clear cmos after flash

i have only used G29 and was very happy

this was with 9650 and a 8800ultra

knob ... eye bet if you wanted to go back to p11 bios now your ram would work also

my very first boot on the mars only wanted 1 stick but was fine after that yours is the first mars eye heard of doing that

I'm on bios G30 with my E8400, so far is good i cant complain but volts seem to be working in a weird way.

I'm in the first setting in red color for MCH, VTT and PLL, if i increase any of this my OC becomes unstable.

CPU max is at 1.565 if i increase it by any amount it will just get unstable.

P.D. FSB 540 is the max i could get with the volts i'm limited to

too much volts can make you unstable as much as too little

I am new to this board and I saw my SATA drives were showing up as IDE. I did some research and I finally have the my drives showing up as SATA like they should.

I have checked the Bios and have read the manual, but no answers. I know my BadAxe 2 had certain ports that were SATA, but this board seems to enable jmicron for the IDE stuff--- is that all? Can I disable jmicron, but still enable Intel SATA?

E.g. I only have 1 SATA hard drive and 1 SATA DVD drive, what are the optimal Bios settings? under the OnChip IDE Device to prevent jmicron from taking control YET allowing ACHI?

I can boot up with 533 FSB but its not stable. Since I still can't get it Orthos Blend stable at 502-505, I didn't pursue further as yet

Apologies for the OT post, but is anyone else having trouble getting to the foxconn and quantum-force forums? It's always been a bit up-and-down for me, but it's now been over 3 days since I could get in. I always get the "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)" error.
