Optimum 680i/780i SATA configuration for 3x74GB Raptors in RAID 0
I was running 2x74GB on my 680i and upgraded to 3x74GB on a new 780i. The SB chipset is the same (I'm assuming) so anyone with either board who can offer the optimal sata configuration for 3x in raid 0 would be a big help.
The mobo has SATA 1-6 on channels A0, A1, B0, B1, C0 and C1. I wish I could remember which channels I had my 2x on the 680i. I can't remember if it was something like C0 and C1 or B0 and C0. Either way, with three drives, I would figure the best configuration is A0, B0 and C0, but the problem is I don't see much, if any, performance difference from 2x to 3x.
Perhaps those running the same config as me could post HT Tach or HD Tune results so I can compare.
Thanks!
