    Auto Xpress feature of RD790

Hi XS, first time poster long time lurker :P

I recently sent MSI an email concerning the lack of PCI-E Overclocking available in the MSI K9A2 Platinum Bios. MSI replied telling me to download the P0H bios so I did. The PCI-E overclocking feature in the P0H bios is, as I gathered, named 'Auto Xpress' and after some research I found the features of Auto Xpress are really cool-See this info http://www.nordichardware.com/forum/...asc&highlight=

However after setting everything to 'On' with Auto Xpress the HT frequency remains at 1000mhz (isn't it supposed to 'double pump' the HT interface for K8 CPU's) and according to AMD Overdrive, the PCI-E Frequency is still at 100mhz despite having two 3850's in Crossfire .

The ONLY way I can OC the PCI-E is via AMD Overdrive which is still only intermittently 'stable' for me- so not really the best option.

Bottom line is there a way 'enable' the aforementioned features of 'Auto Xpress'?

It appears the Auto Xpress feature didn't make it into the official 1.3, that is what i was running prior to P0H odd since isn't 1.3 supposed to be based off P0H....

Yep P0H has it, but only some cards and CPU's setups will benefit from that setting.

I'm not sure if 38xx series cards benefit at all, only the 29xx I know benefits and the PCIe link speed increases with it installed. It doesn't increase for 26xx and 24xx series cards for sure.

Only 800 RAM will benefit from the tighter timings.

HT won't move past stock (that's a risky oc to go past 1GHz on K8).

Have you even tried AOD with BIOS P0H?
Move it up slowly, 2MHz at a time max and see how it goes. Every BIOS should be judged and tested separately, P0H has far better compatibility and oc than others before it.
