you can try solder the pin back , but I never done it and I dont know if its the best aid.
I could fix that, pretty simple too being right on the corner! Half of my crunchers are running on repaired pin CPUs (one of them has like 4 pins replaced lol).
The Cardboard Master Crunch with us, the XS WCG team
Intel Core i7 2600k @ 4.5GHz, 16GB DDR3-1600, Radeon 7950 @ 1000/1250, Win 10 Pro x64
I've heard you can get a thin piece of copper to put into the socket and make it JUST long enough to touch the bottom of the chip where the broken pin was and that works.
Never tried it.. just heard.
Firebane's suggestion definitely works ( as I've personally done that in the past ).
You can also re-solder the pin or even "create" a new one
If you still have the old pin, sometimes you can get lucky and just stick it in its appropriate hole in the socket. If you're lucky, there will be enough contact and it'll all work.
lol back fired. damn. i dunno what happened but there's a burn spot on my mobo, and i'm not goin' to keep throwin' cpu's in there, but i got two dead ones now .... the burn spot is in the socket.
i'm just gunna get a ml34 and a biostar nf325-a7 just tryin' to get it back up, cuz i dunno when i'm ordering my new system ... stupid bills
