can anyone explain me why same product is always cheaper in usa rather then eu?

example cheapest q6600 is around 200€ in eu....that makes around 290$....why? not fair......who is making more margain or ing with us consumers?

i know you usa don't have tax while eu 19-20% but same thing the difference is there....and eu market is 350 million people so bigger then USA.

    i just don't get it.

Well, I believe that you Europeans get shorter work weeks than our 40-hour week...so we've got to balance out things now and then, don't we?
In memory of Gracie, my sweet, sweet wife and mother of my children. Darling, we will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace (born to this world on March 30, 1976; went to her Heavenly Father on Good Friday, April 22, 2011).

Friends in the right places are great

Working on new lighting for the computer room and I get a phone call from my coworker who just happens to be in MC looking for some fans.
So I ask him if there are any 199$ Q6600 SLACR. He says yes but the are displayed @ 339$.

He calls back later and tells me he asked and they said 199$

I am picking it up from him on Monday

They've got it advertised on the main page of their website now, and I just checked, the store in Madison Heights (that's metro Detroit for those of you that don't know that) Michigan has "over 200" in stock !
If they'd approve my FREAKIN' OVERTIME I'd buy TWO more !

Damn, I'm gonna be FLYIN' up the WCG stats !

Followup: It's a G0 L737B277. Two less available in Michigan (another guy got one with all the fixin's for a complete system while I was checking out).

This is a smokin' deal, the wholesale price after April is still supposed to be $224 or something ! And that's for OEM in quantity of 1000 ! Of course we do wind up seeing OEM units retailing cheaper than the wholesale price, but $199 will still be cheap. I'm considering going back for more.

Just read on Anandtech that this deal either expires TODAY the 27th (as indicated in the ad) or rumored to go until Sunday the 2nd of March "through the grapevine."

This is in their new ad that just broke today. In store only. I know the Dallas store has quite a few on hand and they were "GO" stepping.

    test results for my L737046.

3.7Ghz at 1.35v does high 30's idle and high 40's load. with my lapped tuniq tower. 19,155 in 3kmark06 with crossfire 3870's at 850/1286.

chip does 3.9Ghz but i'm not happy enough with temps to leave it there for 24/7. Once I WC, I figure 4.0Ghz will be able at 1.5v typical room temp is 22c. If I had the money i'd bought about 3 more of this batch.. i'm going to skip 45nm.
