Doesn't look like theres any damage to that though, unless its got a bent chassis, which would be hard to accomplish without denting at least a bodypanel...

    Main Rig

    Intel Core i7-2600K (SLB8W, E0 Stepping) @ 4.6Ghz (4.6x100), Corsair H80i AIO Cooler
    MSI Z77A GD-65 Gaming (MS-7551), v25 BIOS
    Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-19200 Kit (HX24C11BRK2/16-OC) @ 1.5v, 11-13-13-30 Timings (1:8 Ratio)
    8GB MSI Radeon R9 390X (1080 Mhz Core, 6000 Mhz Memory)
NZXT H440 Case with NZXT Hue+ Installed
    24" Dell U2412HM (1920x1200, e-IPS panel)
    1 x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO (Boot & Install)
1 x 2Tb Hitachi 7K2000 in External Enclosure (Scratch Disk)

    Entertainment Setup

    Samsung Series 6 37" 1080p TV
Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H based media PC, Mini ITX Case, Blu-Ray Drive
    Netgear ReadyNAS104 w/4x2TB Toshiba DTACA200's for 5.8TB Volume size

I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.

Not trying to be a jerk, but have you considered that the body panels were fixed or replaced since the original accident?

It is possible, but that would be expensive to do if you think about the cost of getting the panels, fitting them, priming, spraying, blending them in etc...

    I doubt they come pre-sprayed from a dealer :p

Celica All trac - because when going used it's got the highest reliability. Having blown up one Subaru Tranny (long ago) and knowing friends with problems with them, I would believe there is a reason why they are selling cheap (their owners would love to be rid of them!)

Bear in mind that the Celica all trac has the same viscous coupling that went on to become part of the first generation 2.0L engine RAV4. So the AWD system (which has changed on today's RAV4 so don't compare a modern one) is still proven and provided reasonably decent traction.

As always, winter tires are a intelligent person's first defense in winter weather

Celica All Trac is hard to find, but very much worth it IMHO.

i asked the seller and they said all that was replaced was the front bumper, a fender and the hood.

obviously i would check out anything i buy. in person.

and remember there ARE different reasons for salvage. Such as theft and police impound. aint nothin like feeling under the seat and finding a brick of coke.

04-05 Subaru WRX for me, I've been looking for a nice 97-99 Eclipse but found nothing good, all had some sort of problems. Here's what I will try to get:

Ya I know about tranny problems, but it's a driver's fault in 04-05. 02-03 do have a crappy, weak tranny. Friend of mine has a 04 WRX, stage 2 w\ EM ~300hp with 80K miles on it and no tranny problems, and he does race a lot. I'll have to ask him for some tips

I also have been looking for 2000+ Celica GT-S, but all of them are overpriced with high miles.

    All for $10k or less?
You can't have both for the money you want to spend.

I'd say look for a B5 a4. They aren't fast, but they are AWD, turbo, and easy to crank out the power on.

A $2000 Civic EG & $8000 worth of motor is fast, but not AWD.

    You'll never find an All-Trac.

I'd say give up one or the other. There are lots of nice Scoobies out there that aren't fast.

Buy something thats reliable and fun to drive. Worry about the fast later.

Not to mention that fast doesn't belong on the street. Thats how people get "DEAD"

ST205 GT4's are rare but ST185 GT-four/All tracks are more widely available.

    ST185's are still pretty awesome

I myself am looking at getting a V8 Quattro. It needs some servicing done, but nothing too major...

I know a guy who is on his third transfer case with under 20,000 miles on his EVO and he doesn't even drive it hard. Any EVO however is not going to be had for under 10k.
Yep. I just sold my track car, a 2006 Evo IX for $27k with 14,000 miles. Sticker new was $35k but since a relative works for Mitsu, I got it for $2500 under dealer invoice ($31k out the door including tax/license)

Audi A4 1.8T's can be found very cheaply, but there's a reason for that, they are crap. Again...know people who tried to use these as their daily drivers and they ended up working on these more than they did their project cars.
Not at all. I owned a 2001.5 Audi A4 1.8t which was very modified and never had a single problem with it during the 4 years and 60k miles i put on it. Heck... i was even running 21psi of boost all 4 years too.

    Early 1.8T's sucked.

About 1998 and up are excellent.
