The 8000 6 layer kit costs £85, but these cost a whopping £115!

£15 overpriced, they need to be reduced. They really arent worth it if they cant do 1200 mhz.

Which version of 1200mhz? The SuperPi version of the Orthos 1hr version? We all know what 32m means to Orthos for differing stability opinions.

    Will it blend?

I'm burnt out on testing and tweaking for now, I still think these have more to offer in the clocks department. There is just not enough reference material available thru review sites to warrant testing again. For now anyway.

    Well, not really....

    Geil Evo one = £163

    G. Skill = £117

Edit - The evo ones also require more voltage, so they arent actually as good as the G. skills!

Yea the UK always gets ripped off. I wish Newegg could do international shipping to us for $15. That would still be cheaper then normal next day UK delivery which costs around £8 for big boxes!

No Evo are far better than the top end G.Skill. Just look http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=177363
If you could find G.Skill that could do 560+ stable with 2.0V...

I just noticed that. So why do they rate them for 2.3v on the 1066 Mhz kit?

I wonder how much they overcolock on 2.3v!

Someone buy the 1066 Mhz Geil modules and review them please.

Here's a review of the 2GB kit (also 8 layers, using the same chips I assume). The 4GB kit should produce similar (albeit slightly lower perhaps) results.

I think I've finally settled on this 4GB kit. I'll post my results when I get them. Unfortunately, that might not be for another week yet. Until then I'll just have to limp along @ 9x420 with the memory I have now

The Eve Ones are in stock at Newegg again. I thought about ordering them, in fact I voided one transaction that was complete. I'm gonna stick with GSkill until I get my RMA sticks back, then we'll see.

Edit: I take that back lol, I went ahead and ordered them. Plus, my GSkills are still under Return policy.

which did you order the 800's or the 1066's?? after talking with geil and asking on their forum they said the esoteria's will oc further than the evo one's will ??? anyone agree??

a quote from chuck (admin) over at their forums "Both are extremely overclockable.
I'd go with the 1066, since you are obviously planning on doing some major benchmarking. The extra headroom may come in handy if you decide to swap dividers around.
BLACK DRAGONS were originally designed for gaming. Turns out that they overclock very well.
ESOTERIA was specifically designed for overclocking. High-end ICs with all of the stops pulled out. Basically.
You probably won't ever need 2.5v, but they are constructed to take it, just as well.
I've run one set at 2.4v at super FSB/12:10 in some benchmarks.
Personally, I prefer ESOTERIA. You can't go wrong with either.
As far as 800 vs 1066, it's a bin-speed rating, not exclusively GeIL. Any manufacturer uses such ratings.
I've only pulled off DDR2 1000 with the 800s, but that was due to system limitations. Probably could have gotten more."

I understood from your post that Esoteria are better than Black Dragon,
not the Evo One. And note that there are no CL4 Black Dragons only Evo One's.

as i said that was the response i got over at their forum when i asked about the differences between them

and if you are looking at 800's than yes the evo's are available in cas4 but the evo's in 1066 are cas5..

id still like to know which he ordered the 1066's or the 800's.. the 1066's do seem to be a bit high in price imo at 221$.. depends on how well they oc i guess

The 1066 Evo Ones , as I'd like to push closer to 1200 at 445 FSB on 400 Strap. They are out of stock now, but I should have these by Friday hopefully. Spyrus you better be right or I'm billing you lol.

Those Black Dragons look sick. I've added them to my short list of 4GB kits. Thanks for the recommendation!

Well i was looking for someone with Evo 1066 and this is you
You should first try CL4 ones, but for 580+ 24/7 maybe the 1066 will do it.
Good luck, i am waiting your results

Will add this about the F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK kit - does not like AMD. C1 on my 790FX-M2R, with 5000+ BE.
