    Question Vista "Exclusive Mode" Bit Perfect audio players?

    Anyone know of an "Exclusive Mode" Audio Player for Vista Ultimate 64 that will help achieve the audiophile holy grail (1:1 bit perfect playback)?

    Here is my example:

    Source = 2 channel, 16-bit, 44.1kHz, .wav

    Path = Vista Ultimate 64 --> ??? (Exclusive Mode Audio Player) --> Prelude X-Fi driver set to Audio Creation Mode and Bit Perfect playback --> Prelude onboard DAC --> Prelude onboard OPAMP --> Headphones

    Result = 2 channel, 16-bit, 44.1kHz

    Well "Exclusive Mode" apps seem pretty non-existant. So, I am trying out ASIO which I guess is kind of similiar to Exclusive Mode?

    foobar2000 supports ASIO and my Prelude supports ASIO. Seems to be working great so far, but unfortunately I have no way to prove I am getting bit perfect output to my headphones... =/

    you're right on track.

    Maybe download Exact Audio Copy & put that in your chain too.
    Double-check you've selected the use of ASIO drivers and/or
    kernel streaming in Foobar, and you should be good to go.

    Thumbs up

    I did discover Exact Audio Copy over the weekend...great program! Except now it takes FOREVER to rip a CD...hehe

    Oh well, at least I know they are supposedly the best 1:1 rips possible.
