New Kingston SSDNow V+ Gen 2 128GB with TRIM enabled

Today Kingston refreshed their SSDNow V+ series with a new native-TRIM controller, higher read / write speeds and higher IOPS.
The SSDNow V+ Gen. 2 has a 43nm Toshiba T6UG1XBG controller and 64Gb (16GB) Toshiba MLC NAND flash memory. The capacities extend now from 64GB to 512GB and come bulk and in bundles (notebook & desktop).
The marketed speeds are 230MB/s read speed and 180MB/s write speeds and the SSD has a 128MB cache memory (Micron D9HSV ).

You can see how the new SSD compares with the Intel X25-M Gen 2 160GB here:

i had both a x25-m and a samsung RBB drive and have to say that there is no differnce in system response time but there is a huge difference in fyle copy (samsung is much faster)

everywith above 5 mb/s is 100% fine for an OS drive

    Kingston 512GB SSDNow V+

Without making too much fuss, Kingston Technology has turned the NAND capacity knob up and introduced an SSDNow V+ series drive boasting no less than 512GB worth of storage space. The high-capacity solid state drives has a 2.5-inch form factor, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, MLC (multi-level cell) NAND memory chips, a MTBF (mean time before failure) of 1 million hours and maximum sequential read/write speeds of 230/180 MB/s.

The 512GB SSDNow V+ model is backed by a three year warranty and can be found 'on its own' @ £989.34 / $1,598 / 1,127 Euro, or within an upgrade bundle (includes cloning software, 2.5-inch enclosure, 2.5-inch brackets) @ 1197.63 Euro / $1,698.

+1 we've been fine with sub 1MB/sec from rotational drives too o_O
Although it does highly depend on the intended purpose and this is not a performance model being a -V designation.

    Toshiba?

Please don't tell me the Toshiba controller is another "revamped" and rebadged J-micron Controller...

Only thing I would ever look forward to or buy from Toshiba is their CellTV
(If it truly does what they claim)

I have their first gen V series, and me no likey.
Switched over to a Vertex and X25, and thank God I did.

Why would the Toshiba controller be a "revamped" and rebadged J-micron???

cause the toshiba controller on v series 64gb and 128gb is a j-micron controller with different firmware which "eliminates" the stuttering issue

new firmware? I was under the impression that firmware updates wouldn't "fix" the Core/CoreV2 and that newer jmicron flash controller drives have either two controllers and a internal raid or a newer revision.
