I would like to see some CPU overclocking. Its great that it overclocks the memory stably, however, its CPU speed and stability that will ultimately count.

I got one last week Foxconn Mars Living Review Nice stable 3.6k will post on virtually anything but voltage settings are quite coarse & i'm having difficulty getting 24/7 stability at say 470x8 which was a breeeze on the Abit IX38 Quad.

The tim is not what is holding the 680i boards back , it's the total design that does....and prolly a big price limit set by Nvidia for big profit gains...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Hey thanks for making that comprehensive review. That bios looks awesome. I'm considering one of these and I have a quick question.

How low do PLL and VTT voltage setting go?

Im dead surprised this board is hardly mentioned here, it has to be up there with the IP35 and DFI LP35 for me,easy to setup and does exactly as it should do.

Drop a 3870X2 in this board with vista 64 and you really can not beat it, even a forthcoming 9800 would make it killer
Can you stick up some 3dmark benchmarks and games then so we can compare?

I'm not sure what 8GB and Vista has in relation to games that Windows XP and 3GB with an old SLi motherboard can do.

if I had time yes, issue is all the issues Asus are throwing at me is keeping me to busy.

I tested 8GB at 1000 with the 9650 at 4.2 earlier today, seemed pretty stable although only linpack reported the speed correctly.

Can you please provide some more details? Here or in the Linpack thread.

For proper testing, problem size should be set to 30000, and test ran at least 100 times, better yet 200+ times.
Also, if you can, always use 64bit version as it loads both CPU and RAM much higher than 32bit Linpack. And you will notice it will give much higher Gigaflops rating.

Im not sure this Linpack is really any good, it loads up the ram ok and after 2 hrs or so i had no errors.

It did report the speed correctly though where nothing else i tested did. Although foxconn may have a bios issue and CPU-Z was correct...i was setting 10.5x400 and ram at 1000.

OS Vista 64bit, copied your settings from the linpack thread, it was testing 7.5gb of ram.

I would really love to see the output file and load temps on Yorkfield.

In 2hrs you can have maybe 20-25 passes, too few to make any conclusions.

I hope you do know that Foxconn is one of the largest OEM suppliers out there. My 2 Intel XBX and XBX2 boards were made by Foxconn ( had their name all over the board PCB with Intel sticker slapped on :P ).

About this board. Its a very good clocker. Very less droop, proven under LN2 / DICE.
Its not available even in India though. Foxconn was a big name in cheap entry level boards here just few years back but now noone is distributing them

Here are the links to the LN2 / DICE run from a fellow o'clocker on this board.

Regards mature bios, im using a QX9650, had 4 and 8GB setups run thru this board all within 64bit vista and had the ram from 1120 down to 800 without ANY issues....Everything works as it should and everything I set in bios sets what it should.
    Thanks for answer Tony

I know Win XP only detects 3gb of ram..
But this is the first board that only detects 2,75gb..

Where do you find the "Hardware remapping" function?
Never saw something like that, never had to care about that too..

I'll give Vista a try some days..By now for me it's not necessary to upgrade to this OS.

This "Mars" is a very nice board, one of the best buildt i've seen for a while(specialy after an X38 Quad GT..).I like it..
Seems to be a great board for extrem O/C,LN2 and so on..But for 24/7 use,not sure

sorry to bother all of you with my "stupid" questions..
I know that here is most O/C threads than "general" hardware problems..

thru the day i don't have time to run it, OCZ are pushing 4 and 8GB memory kits and im being begged to show setup configs to help end users and reviewers all the time so my boards are on and off.

temps wise, they will be low, i use a watercooling system with outside cooling and over 2KW capacity, so there is no way you would be able to compare against my results here, the only test would again be for me to tun prime VS OCCT, Vs Linpack etc...again i just don't have that time right now

lets put it this way,90% of all our 4GB and 8GB issues are related to tRFC, the boards that stop at 42 make up the bulk of this 90%

SPD has helped, but you have to remember if I force 54 thru SPD then there is a performance hit at 800MHZ if the user decides to leave AUTO settings.

Almost every Foxconn P35 board including the Mars is available in Germany. The Foxconn Digital Life X38A board is on stock as well. But no signs of "BlackOps"

Exactly. Even if it launches as a tier 1, which i guess foxconn will rank with , it's still ??? long away . I thought i'd pick the mars up & have a play till x48 finally appears..
