    am2 pinout

    wanna see what pins do what, ground, positive, data, etc. anyone? tried yahoo but didnt get much....

    thats socket 940 issued in 2004, NOT am2. yes am2 has 940 pins, but socket 940 is opteron and fx-51/53 socket.

    Are you sure that the pinout is different? Can be those pins used for the additional external HT links are imply unused.

    EDIT: Nevermind, they aint pin compatible cuz they use ddr vs ddr2 memory (obvious after all). They still can be pin compatible for the non memory related pins however.

    i just tried putting a socket 940 cpu in an am2 socket. doesnt fit. close but nope.
