it seems to be the gap in our future CPU knowlege - next AMD CPU is a die-shrunk k10 with extra cache which isn't really mysterious, the next Intel CPU is nehalem and we're starting to get some solid details and die-shots of it.

i know virtually nothing about bulldozer, except it's a new architecture, and some versions will come with an on-die GPU, which is irrelevant to me-

i think i remember reading that it will come with 1mb l2 cache per core, does anyone know if that's right? if that's true, and nehalem will have 256kb per core, it'll be interesting to see how they compare. Intel's hyperthreading vs AMD's 4x larger cache. granted, bulldozer will come a year after nehalem, so we'd hope that it'll tear nehalem a new one, but who knows
