unuseful... mmmh let's call it impressive
this is XtremeSystems, where people need 8 cores to play SuperPi !

Great frequency indeed, we need some pictures of that tremendous rig.

its a bit expensive toy to run 2-3 benchmarks on it for my taste :P
we could get a 4way quad server with amd or intel server chips and get even better wprime and 2k6 cpu scores
i wouldnt call it the ultimate enthusiast or gamers plattform but its the ultimate workstation for sure!

Guys, for the memory, get some FB-DIMM 800MHz CL3 3-3-3-12 and you ll see that it is not a problem at all

On the top of this, if you know that your program does not do thread migration too often from CPU to CPU, turn off the snoop filter, you get shorter latencies.

Hmm, 1200mhz FB-Dimms a long way off the cards yet then.?

DrWho?, I understand you were involved in developing the board, how easy would it be to implement a memory divider into the BIOS.?

Some of us wanna spank our Clovertowns as QX9775's are way outta reach of our pockets, 800mhz 1gb FB-Dimms are getable for about £78 each so it's all do able, but when they run out then retail is £299 a piece

    Some info other sites missed;

SATA Raid is backwards compatible, you can move from ICH9R without reloading the raid. Just load the INF drivers.

Skulltrail is Socket 771 with LGA 775 mounting holes for more cooling options.

Memory configurations, who got it wrong?

Scores are going up now so look for a XOC thread later.

What's the big deal with 5GHz anyway? You hit that in 2004:

The big deal is that it's dual-processor.

If anyone is interested, I think you can get 3-3-3-12 FB-DIMM DDR2-800 from Micron directly. I'll look into it later

Runs DDR2 and DDR3 just fine as long as they have a buffer chip on the PCB

Agreed, you see who Intel chooses to set World Records at their conferences.

    Actually you couldn't.
The ST board has options to OC the memory voltage and bump them up that no other workstation or server board has.
In the bios the NB,SB,PLL controller, etc voltages are all controllable and that can't be done with any of the other dual socket boards.
Also no other dual socket or quad socket board has the ability to run more than 2 Vid cards.
The quad server boards aren't socket 771's and not competitive.
The SkullTrail is THE board to have for wPrime, Cinebench or even 3DMark06 and in Fuggers and Kingpins hands will not only break the existing records but shatter them.
That's not what I think, thats what I know!

Awsome power, 8 cores @ 5.6GHz. Not the most overclocking friendly experience but Skulltrail is obviously unmatched in terms of sheer system power. Enjoy the records guys, somehow I don't think we'll be seeing many more people doing this with Skulltrail
