Heck ya Andy, I would definently be in on this. I dont have a $50 card, but that wont be a problem to get .

This will be alot of fun im sure. I also think we will see some dead cards too..lol

Now what cards are we talkning about? We should make a list.

I would like to know too. Is it anything goes as for cooling or is there a limit?

I'll do it, assuming I can use aftermarket cooling. Can I bench my X1600 Pro and my 6800, or am I limited to one card?

if we get cards that can monitor core temps maybe use core temperature as the defining factor?

    below -25c, -25c to 0c, 0 to 25c, 25c-50c, and 50c+ ?

I'll play! I've got an 8400GS sitting here, $30 from Fry's baby! I've been eyeballing the card trying to figure out how I'm going to mount the PCB to my cascade, poor thing is so tiny. If I can use the 8400GS I'm down, otherwise I'll pick up the cheapest piece of garbage that will run 3DMark and see how she likes it when daddy's rough with the volts

note: I'd say let's have three classes? Stock cooling, aftermarket, sub-zero. Everyone could submit a stock-cooling result and then play around in your respective secondary cooling class? Prize can be the glory of benching 3DMark for hours on end with a card that costs 3% of your CPU's cost

double note: sticky! give it flashing lights and big bold font and create a banner ad on XS advertising this wonderful event. No reason not to have dozens upon dozens of people playing around.

Although I paid $100 at the time, it's probably worth 2 cents now - can I use my old ATI Radeon 9250 128MB (AGP)? I'm in..the problem is finding a suitable AGP board . It's been what, 6 years since PCIe came out? Ah the time flies.

Cheap ass Ati benching? I'm in, last card I benched was the RD9200 and that was just quick testing on passive cooling

Im down for some card smashing.
But we should all be using the same card, and current gen that we can all find readily available on store shelves.

Im in for sure.. limiting it to one model (eg 8400GS) sounds like a good idea
