Are QX9650 ES more overclockable than Retail?

I want to ask you if the QX9650 ES cpus are more overclockable than the retail/oem ones, because I found someone that sells a couple of them sealed, with the original cooler.

this really sucks, considering you cannot make a good overclock even on the extreme editions, after you pay a ton of money for an unlocked multiplier

^Well it's like the lottery you got many chances out there but only a few lucky one get the very good ones! I was under the assumption that overall ES do a bit better then Retail?

ES are the same C0 revision like retail?
Also,Intel does not pre-test extreme edition versions so they overclock much further with the unlocked multi, considering they cost so much?

It really is a lottery, ES/retail/whatever. My brand new QX9650 retail does 4.5GHz Pi 1M/4.4GHz Wprime at 1.392V.

Once intel started binning for 9770's I think then it is pretty safe to say that most 9650 ES's will be better than the retails or OEM's, or for that matter 9770 ES's. However, when the top of the line model first comes out, with no higher chip in ES sampling, then it is pretty much luck of the draw.
