I'm curious. Have you tried running it stable with lower Vcore yet? 1.36 just seems a bit high for 4000 Mhz on these chips. I'd be really interested to see how low you can take your Vcore and keep it stable at that speed.

That seems pretty hot. What are you using for cooling?

Hmm...those temps seem pretty high for such a good cooler. Is the cooler flat? I know that I had to lap mine (it's now in a secondary rig, keeping an E4500 super-cool).

Depends a lot on what your ambient temps are I guess, but in a 80 F room (not sure what that is in C) mine is running about 36-40 idle and 58-60 under load. But that's at 4000 Mhz

30C ambient inside!!! Wow, you must be roasting!

That could explain the temps. But definitely try to walk those volts down, as we've seen some good results from that batch.

    I had one question...
What i have to do to go over 3600MHz with E8400 stable ? I try everything but without success Max voltage i tried is about 1,39v. My CPU need 1,3 volt to run at 3,6GHz stable... I cant even think about the volts needed by this CPU to run at 4 GHz Maybe i had most sh1t E8400 in the world with wall at 3,6...

I thing NB volts is not a problem i run it @ 1,28v... As i say there is no position in the BIOS that i do not try to tweak but with no luck... I can run this board at 539 FSB but everytime i need to calculate to be sure i not go over 3600 - 3650 MHz I saw most of the people can run 4GHz or more witch i want too but im still unhappy...

Just did my first overclock ever. It was really fun.

    I am stable with my q807a067 e8500 at 510fsb/4330Mhz. Vcore= 1.26

    Passed 1 hour of occt.

    Beginners luck I guess

Try 1.4v for the northbridge - for fsb >400 <500 it is a proper setting.
    Lock your pci-e to 100.
Of course disable eist and thermal throttling.
