Im still running the memory stock at 1.9v, 5 - 5 - 5 - 18. Are you running this too?

EDIT: BTW, I max out in the low 60c range, with 39c idle.
I run my memory at 2.1V 5-5-5-15. I tried it at 4-4-4-12, but I ran into a lot of blue screens, so I loosened the timings.

I run about 40 idle and under load I hit as high as 68. I need to remove my heatsink and lap the IHS on the proc and the heatsink. Should give me a performance boost with regard to heat.

Did you have to increase to 2.1v for stability? I was running 2.0v during testing, then when I was stable, I went down to 1.9v (stock) and still pass OCCT, prime, memtest

Nah, my DFI board defaulted the ram to 1.85 VDimm, and it seemed to run fine, but I figured since I was going to be oc'ing the ram, I should set it to what its rated for (2.1) just in case.

I have a question...what means to lap the IHS and what is IHS ? ...i have a about 62-64c under load...can i lower the temps more with u're IHS LAP.....

theoretically yes you can... to "lap" and IHS ... you just take sandpaper and flatten your IHS and the CPU heatsink ... sometimes you get a concave/convex CPU cooler or CPU IHS ... and when you "lap" them it flattens them all all out for better contact ... "and theoretically lower temps".... temps will very greatly from this though.

i have seen temps drop like 10-15C to the other extreme of actually going up a couple C .... so lap at your own risk ...

hmmm...ok...the IHS is the surface of the CPU or what?...i got the point...i must flat the cpu to get better contact...my cooler ZALMAN 9700CNPS is verry flat and nice...the cpu seems to be the problem...
I have another problem...OCCT and CoreTemp shows me +10 degres more then RealTemp...for exemple in RealTemp i have right now 46c idle, cooler high, and in OCCT, CoreTemp i have 56 ...and OCCT has a limit 70c max to run the test...i must set the value to 80c...what is the real temp ?...WTF?...i think the real temp is 46 because the cooler is cold...under load the cooler is still cold...theoretically at the wrong temp that OCCT and CoreTemp indicates (74-76c), the cooler itself it's hot...but it is't...

Realtemp is correct as it's based on TJcasemax 95 while OCCT and Coretemp still use 105 as value, so they are 10°C off... you can adjust coretemp Tjcasemax via options - settings and putting in -10 in the Tjunction Max offset box.. for OCCT only thing to do is to put like you did put 80 instead of 70 there
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

U're right , i set -10 in CoreTemp, it's ok now...are my temp ok under load...?...i have about 60c OCCT at high and 65-66 at low...orthos it's a bit higher...

We have roughly the same temps. Before lapping, I suggest running load with your case open and a fan blowing into it You could lower temps more than 5c if you have poor case ventilation. I added a stronger rear exhaust fan and organized cables better, with around 5c improvements.

EDIT: if you are still concerned..... I feel 100% safe if load temps typically stay around 65c an lower, system temps 60c and lower. There is no reason to feel these are dangerous temps.

I never break 60c when playing crysis.... and Prime and Folding keep it sub 60c with spikes in the low 60s now and then

Just post screenshots of your setup, cpu-z etc with a stress test running for an hour or so to prove its stable (like others have posted in this thread)

Got hands on E8500, batch Q814A678 Batch. Passed 12 hours of Prime on 9.5x400 (3.8 GHz) at 1.224V. Did pencil mode on my motherboard, but for hitting 4 GHz (9.5x425 - 4.037 GHz) needs much nore voltage. Currently testing at 1.376V under load, 1.38750V in BIOS. If it passes, can I use this for 24/7 work? Also if it passes, I'll try with lower volatages.
