what happens if you let an overclocker set up your flat network

the DSL modem on the left is just acting as a network hub, so i hacked into its 12V power supply and hooked it up to a 120mm fan running through a resistor so it runs at very low speed (just to make sure there's a bit of air flowing around and through the two modems, which are raised off the board it's all mounted to). the power adaptor for that modem has been hacked open and is now held together with rubber gands, with a slot on one edge to let air circulate. the other adaptor has 3 medium sized holes drilled in the top right and bottom left corners, to give it a bit of passive ventilation.
the network cables are held by rubber bands that wrap around cuts made into the wood.

so, that's my cooling mod for the flat network

I need to put a fan on the DSL router of a friend... it keeps locking up unless you turn it on its side lol.

The "hanging system" is easily the best part of that.

No need to mount the board to the wall, probably best to hang it from a flimsy screw!

    A+

Mines similar in the basement, more messy tho.

Got the Surfboard VoIP modem, Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 w/DD-WRT v24, and the NAS w/160GB WD 7200RPM. That's a Yate Loon blowing down on top. I firmly believe that cool networking hardware makes for happy networking hardware, especially when its under heavy load a lot.. and may be OC'd in the future if I get the balls to (TY DD-WRT)
