HDD is starting to make click sounds, and the last 2 days i have been forced to run chkdsk /f, after mj 12 got corrupted. It's hard on ones disk with all that archieving.
That's my second disk that's saying, bye bye, after mj12 has been messing with it.
So if i'm suddenly off the stats for a while, it's because Turtle is on his way to the store, buying a new drive.
It's a long way to the store for a Turtle, a 2 days journey, is expected.

Just check you have .NET 2.0 installed (available via windows update) and your good to go.

MJ-12 is quite hard on the HDD, i had to get new HDDs because of that.
Probably going to use enterprise edition HDD in my 'special' system

My Maxtor IDE POS is holding out for the moment. Been running MJ12 for 4 months now 24/7.

Been thinking about getting some Hitachi Ultrastar disks though.

However.... theres a server at work with 6 U320 SCSI 72GB drives that arent being used.. and I think the company doesnt even realise they are there ^^

MJ-12 is quite hard on the HDD, i had to get new HDDs because of that.

I know MJ12 beats HD's around the ring so I did a little read up and found a lot of HD failures are affected hugely by the temps. I think this one article said that in a comparison of temps, bumping up the temps from 50 to 55 or something close had the same effect as if the HD went from idle to full load temperature-wise, not taking into account if the drive was already idle or load. My HD temp was about 45-48°C when I checked it a few minutes ago which was a bit uneasy for me so I stuck a 80mm fan on it to add to the mess lol Temps are now 33-36°C I've had a HD die on me before but I had ample time to backup everything, those "clicks-of-death" still taunt me somewhere in the back of my head

Hehe just saw everyone setting their flag to their native ethnic background so I'd thought I'd do the same I'm originally from Russia, moved here with my family as a 2-yr old in 1989 and settled in upstate NY
