indeed looks bad, like a prototype or sort, I seriously doubt the final version will be like this but it's a cool idea

If anyone saw the Fudzilla news on this, I popped them an email about not citing their source when it was clear they ripped it off from here

Be even worse than that if something is in the PCI-e x1 slots.

ATi cards run fine with CF at x8 x8 though

Not true, 3dmark06 can barely see the diff from asus commando to asus maximus formula for x-fire.

Games like team fortress 2, I am sure I got a nice improvement, but as long as its not 4X, I am sure even a hd2900xt will get a nice 3dmark score.

w.r.t the first mobo, i'm in love with teh CPU socket area, and the massive clearance and cleanliness in general.
The BIOS shots above look fantastic - finally someone making sense of the miriad of setting available with pointers on what affect different components!

ORLY? put 4..no 2 R680s and run 3dmark06 at 8x and then at 16x. the amout of bandwidth would choke the cards, if 8x didnt make a difference then ATI would have used a 16x bridge on the R680 instead of a 32 lane bridge. if some one is buying a mobo that big, they arent going cheap on the gfx cards.

Ok, now this is just silly.

I am talking from experience, and 3dmark06 scores right now. I had the asus commando (16x4x), and I now have the asus maximus formula (16x16x), I don't see how their can be any argument over my point.

and I am talking r600, the more bandwidth hungy ones.

Afaik, the dual gpu ones, don't support quad cards and octofire. But being as they don't exist retail yet, guessing at what they'll need is pointless.

Mhm, the two 24pin ATX Connectors, will an redundant PSU Setup work or is it only for more power?
plug in primary one as per normal, if you need to run a smaller psu for video cards plug into secondary, turns on and off at same time

Is Foxconn's booth a bit of a low key deal?
