    Biostar TP35D2-A7 PCI problems

Hi folks, I wonder if someone experienced PCI problems with this board. My Audigy card won't work at all in PCI #3 (BSOD and reboots), works with glitches in PCI #2 (doesn't work or one channel disappears), works OK in PCI #1.

I have also RAID3 SATA controller based on Netcell Revolution (5-port Revo64 SR5000 SR5103) with 3 WD1600JS drives. This is driverless card with hardware RAID (XOR and 64MB cache). It also has problems with this board or P35 chipset. Slots 1 and 3 I get transfer rates 1/2 (55MB) of those I had on my old NF4 / Via KT800Pro mobos (around 100MB sustained read rate). In slot #2 it drops to 2MB. While I'm not trying to break speed records, 50MBs burst and sustained? C'mon!!!

Any ideas? My specs are in the sig. ACPI is on and IRQ auto. FSB=300 Multi=10, mem is at 1000MHz. PCIe locked at 100. I have also beched it without OC. Results are the same...

    Onboard audio is off.
    Onboard LAN is on.
BIOS is latest P35BAC05 by rebels haven. Same results were with 927.
Netcell flashed to latest 1.7.6.1 firmware.

    SLOTS #1 and #3

    SLOT #2

And this how one of the drives performs when attached to ICH9 directly. Note that access time is better due to elimination of PCI bus latency.

I will have to catch RAID controller's IRQ during POST 'cause WinXP doesn't even show it.

it's biostar, just because its the latest bios doesn't mean its the best one, i would suggest trying other bios's, and i am sure that there is more than 2

Very true, but Allendales don't OC well (not at all?) with anything below 927. My alternative is to say goodbye to RAID and just have 3 disks directly plugged into ICH9. I just get that warm safe feeling while having it Too bad it's slow as a snail...

I could do BSEL mod, but I don't want to waste time if there is no BIOS that would fix PCI slots in that mobo.

    Thanks for the link!
