    D-Tek FuZion V2 noise???

I like the temps on my new D-Tek FuZion V2 but it seems to make a low tone noise.

Is this typical??? most of my other blocks were pretty silent.

if I pinch off the flow the noise goes away and I don't think there is any trapped air.

if this is just the way it is so be it but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this ?

low tone? Do you mean crackling noise? Can you elaborate?

sounds almost mechanical like its not a low tone

its a sound like water swishing but not crackling per say.

sounds almost like white noise around 600-800 mhz

its loud enough to drown out my 8800GT fan at idle or about the same as a Flex fan at 1150 rpm free air

mine makes no noise after all air bubbles are out but while air is trapped in there it makes a sound like you are describing, you sure that there is no air????

I would think the only way it could make noise is if there is air in your loop.

Mine also makes the same noise and it is hard to describe.

Sounds like water swishing around inside the block. I can confirm that it is the fuzion by doing the tubing pinch as iboomalot stated. This is an air free loop as it has been running for well over 2 weeks.

air bubbles ... in your wb

stop the pump ... tilt ur pc to remove the air bubble .. then start the pump ... repeat till no more bubbly noise ..

it gets worst if your air bubbles got to the pump .. it's never ending swirlling sound

    pump is a mcp655 I think its set on 4 or 5

Iam not going to tilt the PC i'll take the block off and see if I can get arid of any trapped air

it been running for awhile and seems everything is bleed but never know.

well removed the block and spent 20 mins twisting, turning ,pinching , turning off and on pump and nothing changed

the sound is coming from the bottom of the block when its off the mobo its a med/high pitch static sound and when mounted it lowers in pitch.

I even put some thin o-ring spacers on the mounting screws and didn't help.

temps are good 27c/33c idle and 34c/42c loaded and being inside the case muffles it alot so I guess Iam going to blow it off.

Thanks for the input but I do wonder why its making noise???

Do you use any nozzle ? Water jet(s) can produce a "shhhhhhhhh" noise because of friction and impingements with pins/baseplate if flowrate is sustained.
The Storm WB is a bit noisy too because of multiple high speed jets, clearly distinguishable if you're not deaf. No need air bubbles to induce noise...

its a stock V2 my storm didn't make noise but it was like pushing **thinks for second*** ummm ground beef threw a stir straw

    no flow = no noise

Did you disassemble the block to see if there is anything inside? I've got no idea what could get inside but if everything other fails :/

I never had the opportunity to take FuZion apart but two other possible problems I could think of are:
The "chamber separator" might be loose. [eg. If the small O-ring inside is missing it could start vibrating due to waterflow]
Some air bubbles "sticked" inside the "exchaust chamber".

I was about to move to the Fuzion V2, but guess I won't. 3 People with noisy blocks on stock

I'm part of the people not supporting a Scythe at higher than 800-1000 RPM, so I think I'll be disappointed

Thanks for the info, if its really bleeded and you disassambled as you did, than the block has a problem

A d5 pump at 4 or 5 would make more noise than the sound of water hitting copper.
Something must be wrong in the loop or something else must be causing that noise.
Are you sure it's from the block?

I didn't see yet any tests with the Fuzion v2 and a quadcore comparing it to other blocks like the Enzotech or EK Supreme

To see the benefits, you really have to go with an RD pump or two pumps in series for a CPU only loop just to get 2°C gain over a Fuzion V1

Not all people wish to go that way. The EK is really way too restrictive.

Furthermore, I still didn't see any proof the EK is better than a Fuzion V2 on a quadcore, no tests yet...

Ok, I ran my loops through martins flow calculator and my GPM should be good even with a EK Supreme, but definitely on the low end, particular in comparison to what it would be if I swap the EK Supreme with the FuZion v2. Any idea what kind of GPM I should be looking for to get the benefit from the EK Supreme? >1 GPM, >1.5 GPM, >2 GPM, etc. or will any "acceptable" flow with the EK Supreme still net me benefits?

However you may not see much temp improvement over a Fuzion v2 either.
