    50W enough for GPU?

    Hiya,

I was wondering if a 50W pelt for GPU is enough for 24/7 use?

    and offcourse high overclocks?

    what card?

is it a 50W tec or will you use an 80W tec and run it @50W?

50W actual tec cooling power would be enough for:

    8500/9100 works good
    9000/9200 works good
    geforce4 4200/4400/4600 works ok
    9500np/p works ok

    9700np/p maybe... 9800pro needs more i think

i change pelt on mine, just takes some modding my swiftech 80watt pelt block. also needed to clean out and re-apply thermal material.

in order to get descent overclock performance on your R9800, you need more than 50watt pelt. 80watt would be the minimum.

I just change out the 80watt in the swifty for a 172 watt. Just got a gasket kit and it was no problem.
