I was thinking of reflashing my two normal Sapphire 3870's with the new atomic 3870 from sapphire. do anyone know a place to get it! or if you have the card please save and give us a copy

also, did anyone tried successfully any bios for fixing low fan speed on sapphire 3870 stock edition!?

    Thanks.

i installed this BIOS a few days ago and it works perfectly:

    http://www.mvktech.net/components/co...fan_unlock.bin

it runs the fan at 33% idle and 59% full load. my idle/load temps are 45/63 (63 is the high end in Crysis. it loads in the high 50's in CoD4). here is a screenshot of the Riva monitor after playing CoD4 for a while and exiting the game.

it also fixes the 862 MHz wall. enjoy!

OMG, It didn't work for me! after flashing it with atiflash in dos and restarting, my #0 fan went up to 100% and when vista loaded, ccc reported that clock is 1777 or may be I am wrong, but fan was at 100% and a deadly hot wind was blowing out of the card.

I then refelashed to previous bios. don't know what to say... should I flash my card by another program?!

check your signature man! do you really owned a 3780!?

Could you please try it and report the success/failure here?

I think my atiflash.exe is the newest one, because I flashed my cards from 0000.67 to 0000.71 successfully.

I have the retail version of Sapphire HD 3870 so I think that problem must not be the cards.

Tried this BIOS today. Using 8.1 Cats the card was not identified by CCC or drivers. Windoze default VGA driver got installed.

CCC did load and recognised the vendor ID but not the hardware ID. I have not had the time to investigate this. So I flashed back to previous BIOS.

Strange that BIOS flash utility (AtiWinFlash) recognised the hardware ID of the new BIOS. But CCC and drivers didn't.

I have a sapphire HD3870 and i am also interested in the atomic bios.

I have flashed my card 2 times, and a card for a friend of mine.

The first bios is that from the stilth the second one i think its the same as posted above ( I got that bios from a friend of mine )

I used winflash to flash the cards no problems.

    To be a professional noob/idiot
    * Default factory speed is for noobs.
    * Everything must go above the speed that the factory consider safe.
    * Everything for more performance
    * Everything fits, and everything can be broken.
    * Most problems can be fixed by adding a volt or two.
    * Post things in your signature that makes no sense at all.

when i rebooted after flashing, i had to uninstall and reinstall my video driver. then i rebooted again and still got the message from Windows about having an unknown device. i let Windows try to search for drivers then clicked "Don't Try Again" after it failed to find anything automatically. i haven't seen any pop-ups since.

MrBungle, The card was not recognised by CCC or the driver. It was not the UAA driver for the HDMI audio that failed to install, it was most all of Catalyst. I had no options at all in CCC, only the Welcome and Information panels. No 3d, no Colour, no Avivo options etc. The information panel cited my HD3870 as an unknown device.

I re-flashed this morning with this new BIOS. Not a problem. Driver for UAA not installed, but everything else is now as it should be. CCC fully functioning and card properly recognised. Must of been a partly bad flash yesterday.
    All OK now

I have used the Atomic BIOS on my Sapphire 3870. It gives 825/1200Mhz. It seemed to work ok but I got a crash after playing Armed Assault for a couple of hours. My system hard locked and I got a multicoloured screen with vertical lines. I think the RAM on my 3870 can't handle 1200Mhz so I installed a standard Sapphire BIOS and have my card's clocks at 825/1175Mhz. I still need to find my max stable core setting and I'll upgrade the cooling at some stage.

    Thanks for the link,

I already recieved the latest bios for my cards directly from sapphire's support. now the fan is operate more aggressively and temps are below 60C during full load! And I also got my new power its a seventeam 1030 watt ...it's loud too.

for now, if any one tried this Atomic Bios, please report the temps at idle and full load with the normal 3870 using this bios.
