Does it matter on brands for SLI??????

Was wondering if i buy a EVGA GTS and a BFG GTS if it matters as far as running them in SLI.
Reason why i ask is that i can buy both at newegg and using mail in rebates i can save some cash.
I don't know if i buy 2 of the same product like 2 EVGA GTS cards that i can use 2 rebates.

Yes, they can work fine.
I wouldn't count/rely on M.I.R. though.
