considering I hit 209 right outta the box stable, and 220 unstable, on a Epox 8K3A+, 8 months ago, with a 1/5th divider, I don't really think PCI lock is all that big a deal.
it's nice to have and all, but I am sure with the 1/6th divider you should be able to go nice and high...

unless VIA just completly screwed up...

Using crappy samsung 3200 ive taken one to 233 in 3dmark.

I have one to put in my home system but im on holiday for two weeks, so you lot will have to wait :P

I think this board will be good for FSB overclocks, although im not sure if it will beat the best NF2 boards in benchmarks, its a bit hard to say how far it will go.

Hopefully VIA will be more consistent than Nforce2 as there is allot of variability between nforce boards.

    Won't matter ....

VIA's drivers may be more stable, but it's still crap to begin with. No PCI or AGP lock means more trouble-shooting to determine which one of your devices is failing. Probably won't be a good OC'r for the high FSBers. Not to mention the SATA raid controller. I'm still not sold on this SiliconImage thingy. Still, as long as there is TeamVIA (LOL) I guess there will be IDIOTS to buy their crap.

Lot's of gfx cards, especially ATI, don't like AGP above ~80MHz max. So even with a 1/6 divider that's going to limit your fsb to 240 which is never going to compete with the NF2 dual-channel.

Even my Ti4600 didn't like AGP speeds higher than that, that is unusual for a GF4 though. I could boot into Windows @ 215 on my KX7-333 with 1/5 divider but the display looked really psychedelic (man ). Highest I ever completed 3dMark at was 197.

Actually my Ti4600 loves 99MHz @ 1.5v and 100 @ 1.5 on my old 8RDA+, so this video card can handle 300FSB on a non locked PCI/AGP mobo. Now even my NF2 can't get up there. If the KT600 can do 250FSB with SATA HDs, then I might get it,

unless you run a SCSI card, or any other card for that matter, which refuses to work correctly on an overclocked PCI bus.

PCI lock is a HUGE issue.... before usin a NF2 because of my hardrive (WD 100gig w/ 2mbcache) i could only run 185mhz... now im runnin 230mhz because of lock.

Overall I dont see the need for this board. The actual layout is a big step backward and theres nothing it can do that the nforce2 can't.
